Nice hotel in a fabulous and remote location. I enjoyed my short stay in the Busta House hotel. This is good as there really was nowhere else to go nearby if I didn't enjoy it. Pleasant staff, nice old fashioned building and good food. Only problem was the old windows are a wee bit draughty and one of the radiators... more

We really loved our stay here and it was one of the best places we've stayed in. Don't expect a huge hotel with loads of fancy facilties. This hotel has about 20 rooms and as the building is 400 years old, the rooms are furnished in an old-fashioned style which goes well with the rest of the building, Views from... more

We didn't stay but went for lunch after being recommended by a few travel websites and a local one. The welcome was warm and friendly but the food left a lot to be desired. My chefs pate was tasteless and my cod was a few days the wrong side of fresh masked in a sauce to hide the fishy flavour,... more

I can't speak for the hotel itself, as we didn't stay at the Busta, but we had two very delicious and reasonably priced pub dinners on our recent Shetlands trip. The hotel was initially built in the 1700's I believe, or earlier, and has great charactor and history. Lovely atmosphere for a meal, as well as great food and service. more

We decided to stay a night at Busta House during a recent trip to Shetland and felt it would be a nice treat to stay here and have a meal in the restaurant however I'm afraid I was really disapointed - the room was ok but very small and a bit old fashioned. The meal was pretty poor - I... more

We stayed at Busta after a stay on Fair Isle, Busta was pretty well what we expected, a walking club from near our home in Cheshire was staying, in fact a couple of large but quiet and sociable groups as well as a 21st birthday party lest you think everyone was geriatric. Nice staff, good service. Rooms echoed to doors... more

A brilliant setting at the edge of the sea and a good centre for seeing the shetlands. But the bar food was pretty poor, not enough, not much variation if you're there most nights and strange little bowls of meat all much the same for different menu items - yes, I know you can't expect Scotland to have the same... more

A very friendly little hotel set in the stunning scenery of the Shetland Isles. Centrally placed giving you easy access when exploring these wonderful islands. The evening meals and breakfast (especially the porridge!) were very high quality. room was large and well appointed. All staff went out of their way to make you welcome. more

I can only agree with previous reviewers: lovely quaint old hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Fair Isle room was large with big bathroom, loch views. Its a pity they dont have a fire in the lounge, but the central heating is fine (once you turn up the cursed thermostatic valves). more

We stayed at Busta House this year for the fourth time in twenty years. This may not sound many times, but when you consider that we come from Australia, and Shetland is about as remote as you can go in Britain, it's indicative of its drawing power. This is a truly great hotel. The location is magic, the rooms are... more
