Torridon YH is a fantastic place. Well run, clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The scenery is amazing and it does feel like you are in the Scottish wilderness. It has all the facilities you would need for a great stay. Kitchen well equipped, lovely quiet sitting area to read and relax. Those travelling to the area... More

Stayed a couple of nights for a walking holiday. Building is clean, secure, welcoming, and warm. Hostel is very well-equipped - large drying room, two sitting rooms, extensive kitchen and eating area, multiple shared bathrooms, and a small shop area at the reception. Also lots of information about local area, and regular updates about weather. You can bring own food... More

Good to see this place has had good reviews, I heartily concur. It is a spacious modern building with good amenities, such as laundry, large kitchen, drying room and lounges. It is well managed and spotlessly clean. Matt and Emily were running it when I was there. They have an excellent knowledge of the vicinity, particularly the mountains nearby, and... More

This was a great hostel in a great location. All the staff were friendly and helpful. There was a well equipped kitchen, the rooms were comfortable and the showers good. They offer breakfast and have evening meals that you can get. Home made meals, frozen down so you can have at your convenience. Great location for climbing Torridonian hills. The... More

Matt, the owner is very very friendly. The kitcken is well equiped and you have lots of space. The rooms and toilets&showers are basic but okay. There are some nice short walks in the surrounding mountains and the Torridon Lake is at walking distance.

I don't usually stay at hostels which are in essence in the middle of nowhere, but this hostel was great, the rooms were clean, showers and bathrooms were spacious and the kitchen facilities were amazing with access to pots, pans, cups and all instant hot water. Rooms were spacious with lockers to store away bags and personal items safely. What... More

Very spacious with two seating areas and large kitchen.Room had two single beds and was reasonably sized.Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Charging for towels does look a bit tight fisted.Surely a towel is not going to make you bust but shows some respect towards a guest? otherwise, highly recommended.

Purpose built as a youth hostel in 1975 and well looked after. Spacious and modern with good facilities. Large kitchen area and dining room. Two lounges. Built into a hillside, so lots of stairs linking the numerous levels. Parking shouldn't be a problem. Rooms clean and comfortable. Showers / toilets good. Always a friendly welcome and excellent service. A place... More

Arrived here after an 85-mile cycle ride from Ullapool in the worst June weather I can remember. I was wet, cold and hungry. As soon as I got to reception the duty warden, Emily, offered me a towel and asked if there was anything else I needed. Her helpful, friendly attitude coupled with the superb facilities made my one-night stay... More

Specially built in 1975, Torridon YH is one of the most spacious hostels with the best drying room in the country! Lovely lounge overlooking the mountains, big kitchen. Showers and loos upgraded. Bedromms seem to have fewer beds now and so be mor spacious and practical for those with lots of kit. All the design seems to be well thought... More
