I traveled to Scotland a month ago and my first night's stop was reserved at Morangie House. I did enjoy my stay for the night and then on to Dornoch. There is much to do in Tain for a day or two visit. From a tour of Morangie Distillery, to Tain Golf Club, to a walk through the town center,... More

My feelings are very mixed about this hotel. Our first impressions were fairly negative, but improved somewhat over our 2-night stay. Comment has been made about the decor being 'tired' and we would strongly agree with this. There is a significant difference between 'traditional' and 'tired', and the main building of Morangie House is quite definitely the latter. (There is... More

Morangie House Hotel is in the pretty Town of Tain. It's just off the A9 so makes a good stopping off point. If you're a golfer it's within 30 minutes of Tain, Dornoch, Golspie and Brora courses. My room was fine; spacious and comfortable though decor is very dated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed dinner: a good... More

We were delighted by the helpful staff and general comfort and welcome in this hotel. Two of us stayed in a room in the old part of the hotel, which was cramped and tired and the bed was too lumpy for a good sleep (though the bathroom was fresh and pleasant). Our friends stayed in the newly refurbished part of... More

We stayed overnight, arriving 23rd June. Pleasant staff, comfy room, huge bed, food good for dinner and breakfast. We found no problem with the "traditional"decor, and had a nice restful stay before driving on northwards next day. Bar had a good selection, pity I was driving early.

Stayed 3 nights in this hotel and had an absolutely fantastic time. The Staff were very friendly and the owner took time to sit and chat with guests. The food was exceptional, and all local produce. I would definitely go back.

My partner wanted too take me somewhere nice for an evening after dropping our son off with his grandparents so we found this hotel, first impressions weren't great when we arrived but the staff seemed friendly enough, the decor is much too be desired, we headed too our room and although the rooms are large the decor is something from... Think this reviewer being a bit tough. The decor of the hotel is aimed at being in keeping with the style of the building, but of course everyone to their own opinion.I sometimes do ask myself, are the paintings of highland landscapes and wild-life a bit old fashioned these days. She missed a real delight on the food side, using mainly local produce... More

This hotel and the staff makes you feel welcome. They are kind and attentive. The service is good, the romms spacious. The shower is quite bad though. No water pressure whatsoever. The kitchen is mediocre. Food is ok, but not as good as you might expect here. The location is great for a superb restaurant, the atmosphere also asks for... More

I am a local to the area and have visited the establishment for a number of years now and have never once had a bad experience. One time in particular i remember visiting i had the lamb shank, it was moist and meaty like nothing i'd ever eaten before. There was a good helping of buttery mash (i'm a gal... More
