Visited enroute to John O 'Groats, a comfortable old lady of a hotel, nice clean room , great bath, full and tasty Scottish breakfast and a traditional dinner menu( which could have been upgraded a bit to include slightly less solid food, more salads esp. in summer ). Signage to the hotel could be greatly improved as it was broken... More

Although the rooms are spacious, the general feel of the place is old. The views are not of the sea but of the retail park across the road and the food was just pub food really. Staff are excellent but these points and the constant smell of old frying fat spoiled the visit for us. Definitely better hotels in or... More

this is our 6th visit to this hotel. We have always had good friendly service. The food is good and there is also a comfy lounge bar to while away the time. We have just had our first upgrade as we are now classed as regulars!!.Will definately go back again.

Good place for a night or two if visiting this part of Scotland. Comfortable rooms, although a bit dated. Good food and menu choices. Great cooked breakfast. Would definitely stay here again. Plenty of parking. Outdoor seeing if the weather is nice.

We stay here especially to discover the north part of the highlands and also to play golf. The hotel well situated in a small village has been built in 1905. It offers confortable traditional bed rooms and cosy lounge bar. The cuisine is acceptable. Don't miss to play the beautiful Royal Dornoch golf. It is amazing.

Up playing golf in Royal Dornoch for a few days and booked and booked the hotel for our stay. Handy location not far from the main road north and south. Rooms are of good size, clean and comfortable, with flat screen tv and tea and coffee making facilities. Nice lounge with large flat screen tv but unfortunately no Sky tv... More

We are from Newcastle and were visiting dear friends in Bonar Bridge for the weekend. We visited this hotel for Sunday carvery lunch - our friends go nearly every week because it so good and of such good value, and I have been there before. It was excellent, tasty, plentiful, high quality, and the staff are just lovely they can't... More

We stopped for dinner here twice during our stay in Tain. The first night we had the burger and the baked chicken, no staters or dessert. The burger was fine, the texture being very different from the standard American burger so was not what I expected but tasted very good. The baked chicken with mushroom sauce was very good indeed.... I traveled to Scotland a month ago and my first night's stop was reserved at Morangie House. I did enjoy my stay for the night and then on to Dornoch. There is much to do in Tain for a day or two visit. From a tour of Morangie Distillery, to Tain Golf Club, to a walk through the town center,... More

My feelings are very mixed about this hotel. Our first impressions were fairly negative, but improved somewhat over our 2-night stay. Comment has been made about the decor being 'tired' and we would strongly agree with this. There is a significant difference between 'traditional' and 'tired', and the main building of Morangie House is quite definitely the latter. (There is... More
