I stayed overnight on business & a colleague & I had an enjoyable evening meal. My room was very pleasant, well appointed& warm on a cold evening. Overall very good value & I would stay again if in the area.

This hotel was once a magnificent private house, built by one of two very ambitious, competitive and rich sisters. Both houses are now hotels owned by the same proprietors. I find the conservatory very depressing and simply have no idea how the planning authorities ever allowed the fine work of a noted local architect to be spoiled -- not by... More

Not sure where this person is coming from. The conservatory was built 19 years ago. More

This is a warm hotel, yes on the older side but warm and the staff were very obliging. The full English breakfast was really big and the food generally good, would stay here again. The weather was bleak but although surprised to find the radiator off in the bedroom could not believe how warm the room became.

A decent hotel, genuine scottish. Large rooms, but a bit wear and tear. Comfy beds, cleanliness is good. Breakfest could have been a bit more exiting and serving with a bit more speed. Havent tried the restaurant yet, but will update when tried.

Visited enroute to John O 'Groats, a comfortable old lady of a hotel, nice clean room , great bath, full and tasty Scottish breakfast and a traditional dinner menu( which could have been upgraded a bit to include slightly less solid food, more salads esp. in summer ). Signage to the hotel could be greatly improved as it was broken... More

Although the rooms are spacious, the general feel of the place is old. The views are not of the sea but of the retail park across the road and the food was just pub food really. Staff are excellent but these points and the constant smell of old frying fat spoiled the visit for us. Definitely better hotels in or... More

The building originated 1880s to 1890s. Some of the features originate from that period and of course we are selling character and originality not plastic replica. Tain dates back to 1066 and was built as the market town. Most of the buildings are not on the sea shore as that has been designated as natural hertiage.A 5 minute walk takes you... More

this is our 6th visit to this hotel. We have always had good friendly service. The food is good and there is also a comfy lounge bar to while away the time. We have just had our first upgrade as we are now classed as regulars!!.Will definately go back again.

Good place for a night or two if visiting this part of Scotland. Comfortable rooms, although a bit dated. Good food and menu choices. Great cooked breakfast. Would definitely stay here again. Plenty of parking. Outdoor seeing if the weather is nice.

We stay here especially to discover the north part of the highlands and also to play golf. The hotel well situated in a small village has been built in 1905. It offers confortable traditional bed rooms and cosy lounge bar. The cuisine is acceptable. Don't miss to play the beautiful Royal Dornoch golf. It is amazing.
