I visited this hotel today for lunch and while the food ( carvery- three courses fixed price) was very nice I was appalled at the rudeness of the owner at the end of our lunch. The person I was with cannot eat puddings and we asked for coffee instead of a pudding. The head waitress said no problem but was... More

Its a pity this customer dosen't recognise value. The Morangie Sunday carvery priced at £13.50,offers a choice of top quality meats, topside, gammon, pork. Starters including local prawns and smoked salmon. Homemade sweets to die for. All this for £13.50. It is,as she said an all in carvery, surely to ask for free coffee as well is a little bit cheeky. We had 187... More

I had great pleasure in staying at the Morngie House Hotel with family and friends over the new year. We all had a great time and especially enjoyed sitting in front of the huge log fire after dinner chatting to each other. The hotel is well run with very friendly and professional staff. The bedroom's were spacious and clean and the... More

We stayed here for 4 nights over the new year and could not find fault other than a weak shower which was duly rectified on the second day. The staff in this hotel are very proffessional and discreet but very observant and cooperative when required. The food is truly amazing especially the hand cut chips which are exquisite. If you... I have stayed at the Morangie House a couple of times recently and would definitely return. The rooms are very nice albeit a little old fashioned but in my opinion adds to the character of the hotel. Breakfast is fairly standard but the evening meals are excellent, I would highly recommend trying the soup of the day no matter what... More

Stayed for a couple nights, both times the food was first class, staff friendly and the quality of service excellent. If only they would invest a few pounds in their rooms. The shower in the room was broken and the head wouldn't stay upright and then the water flow was so poor it was just a trickle. On top of... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights and were so glad that we had. Working in the hospitality trade is demanding team work, but the first person whom you meet on arrival is the receptionist and it is their initial welcome that can make or break a stay. No problems here as both ladies with whom we had dealings were a... More

8 of us had dinner there on Saturday and the service was extremely poor. The staff have not been trained properly at all and it was a bit like Fawlty Towers. The food was, however, very good but the inexcusable table service sOured the evening. The young staff were pleasant but had clearly not been trained in the fundamentals. Not... More

Interesting comment. We pride ourselves on our service which is honest , attentive and friendly ,however we dont pretend its silver service. Your group left a good tip and when asked how the evening went, they enthusiastically all agreed they had a good evening. So you obviously you didnt agree with the rest of the group, We are continually training staff... More

Stayed here for one night, the hotel is in a quiet location. The grounds of the hotel were on the neglected side. The receptionist was a very friendly and helpful person. The barman was not over friendly, but the bar prices were reasonable. The evening meal was very dissapointing, I chose the sirloin steak which was extremely tough and the... More
