From the outside it doesn't look much and is not very well advertised , just a sign at bottom of road saying the times food is served. We just came across it and decided to try. There was a lovely warm welcome from staff, and a roasting hot fire burning away , perfect for a cold day. Plenty on the... More

Located in the highlands, this hotel is a perfect landing place on your Scotch tour. The hotel bar has a wide variety of whiskies waiting for you. On my way from Aberdeen to this hotel, I passed numerous distilleries, all of them famous brands. Alas, no time to stop and enjoy the tours they all seem to arrange for visitors.... More

Nine golfers stayed here for 4 nights on a package deal. The rooms were brilliant, the food was excellent and the staff looked after us really well. The hotel is an imposing mansion and the decor is subdued and classy. We will definitely be considering a return visit.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday Carvery here ... What an excellent spread. Everything freshly prepared and being constantly replenished. Delicious selection of high quality starters and 3 roasts on offer too with all the usual Sunday lunch trimmings. Also salmon fillets for those who aren't into meat or beef. Lovely selection of desserts too. A busy Sunday venue so probably worth... More

Our group of six golfers chose Morangie House Hotel (once we learned the Eagle Hotel in Dornoch was fully booked) for our five-day golf holiday in the area. (After tolerating a truly indifferent dinner at the Eagle's restaurant during our trip, we like how things worked out). Royal Dornoch, Brora, Tain, Nairn, and Castle Stuart courses are all within easy... More

An invitation to lunch on Sunday was a treat afforded to my wife and me when we joined our hosts at Morangie House Hotel for a carvery lunch. We were warmly welcomed in the dining room and shown to our reserved table. The choice of starters, meat, poultry and fish and sweets to follow was mouth watering as well as... More

Stayed one night here. Entrance quite sad - no effort made with garden, planting etc. Almost turned around and went away! Staff friendly and helpful. Room absolutely adequate - good size, clean and especially delighted that we could open the windows! breakfast good.

We stayed two nights in this hotel and ate in the dinning room for both evenings. The from we were given was very spacious. Large bathroom with shower. Nicely decorated. However, the bed which was a king size bed was very hard and it felt like we were sleeping on a wooded plank. Aside from that we enjoyed the room.... More

My mother and I have lunch at the Morangie every Sunday. We have missed only 3 or 4 Sundays in 4 years. There is always an excellent selection of starters, from pate or smoked salmon and prawns to piping hot cream soups, a speciality of head chef Scott. The carvery always consists of a choice from beef, chicken, ham and... More
