AVOID THE CAITHNESS SUITE! paid £220 a night for b&b this was meant to be a special rate! This was first room we were allocated.It was right above the kitchen,which we had to stay our first night .You could hear every word that was said ( and I mean every word about guests!)let alone the usuall kitchen noises. What a place to stay. The hotel is wonderful, the staff are superb, talk about individual service. The food was excellent and from the hotel's own gardens. An utterly fabulous weekend, from the informal but undoubtedly sincere welcome, though the fantastic accommodation, to the distillery visit, food and entertainment. Made welcome and shown to Cottage. Quite nice but certainly not 5 star. Given tea and home made cakes - v. nice. Rooms in hotel were much more 5 star. Friday was very minimal. Supper was poor.
