This was our final night of a week long holiday visiting some of the western islands and highlands before driving back to our east coast home, the location was well chosen and offers a real look back in time at Victorian Grandeur, folk with a liking for timeless appreciation will enjoy this hotel, our mountain view room was perfect for... I stayed here for 2 nights on the way back from Orkney. I had previously stayed in this hotel 6 years ago for 3 nights. Then it was a little dated, there was a funny smell along part of the first floor corridor, my single room was a bit indifferent and the food was rather poor. In addition, the hotel... More

Imagine having to crouch over a 17 ins tv screen all weekend trying to watch the finals of the FIFA World Cup. This was the problem we faced staying at the Ben Wyvis Hotel where our superior, top floor room of 35 to 40 square yards could have comfortably accommodated a 37 or 40 ins flat screen tv set. Strahpeffer... More

Booked a two night break, £69 per person for two nights dinner, bed and breakfast through Classic Britain. Arrived to find glorious garden grounds and a stunning Victorian building. Inside though it was a bit dated and could do with some TLC. All staff during our visit were very polite and helpful. Room was large: twin with the two beds... More

We enoyed a 2 night stay dbb for £69 with a 24hour flash sale with Easy Breaks. We were amazed at the price but even more amazed when we arrived at the hotel. The receptionist was very friendly and gave us information regarding meal times etc. Our twin room was very spacious with panoramic views over the grounds to the... More

Stayed here for two nights on a bed and breakfast basis for a family wedding, 1st impressions building and grounds looked really good and well looked after shame it wasnt the same inside the hotel, room was disappointing for the price that was charged and the view we had was looking onto a roof and the room was small and... A one night stay after Eden Court show - location was great. We were given a ground floor room which was ok. The whole place looks like it needs money spent on it. The dining room was freezing - big room to heat but paying guests deserve to be comfortable, it was warmer in the morning. Evening meal was ok... More

Stayed one night here. Externally the hotel looks lovely... However, it is in desperate need of updating with faded wallpaper and furniture. Squeaky floorboards resulted in little sleep and the restaurant had no atmosphere. How about a little music? Food satisfactory but little choice for breakfast too with no choice of variety of teas. Won't be staying here again.

Pros: Lovely setting with a wide variety of rooms at a good price. Good service. Pretty town with great casual restaurant nearby. Cons: A bit worn at the edges. Watch out for the bus crowds at breakfast.
