We recently ate in the restaurant, and were the only two diners that night. However, the level of service and the food were superb. It was a credit to the chef that he created our dishes clearly with a dedication that is a credit to him and the Hotel. We had a wonderful meal, and would certainly recommend. Thank you... More

With lovely views across Loch Shieldaig and in the heart of some of Scotland's most spectacular scenery and roads this hotel offers warm hospitality and a wide range of facilities. I lost a button of an item of clothing and put it on the table in my spacious and well appointed room in order not to lose it. After the... More

I know that this review site is for recent visits, but I just had to write a review about this lovely hotel which we stayed in eight years ago with the current owners. We were here for a week in July 2007 with my mother who had just been widowed and our three children aged 14, 12 and 9. The atmosphere... More

A lovely little family hotel which never fails to please. The food is exquisite and the situation great. Lovely friendly service. A shop attached for those little extras. No TV in rooms, which is a 'Welcome Break' for me anyway. One little gripe is that the carpets have seen better days, but really that is of little consequence when walkers... More

My husband and I have just returned from 3 fabulous days in Sheildaig and a stay at the Tigh an Eilean Hotel. Yes, the decor could perhaps do with a refresh in places however this was part of the charm. A warm welcome, beautiful views from the doorstep and some amazing food made for a wonderful visit. Experienced some of... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in September. Our room was clean and comfortable, and our hostess was very helpful to us in several ways. We also liked being able to have dinner in the pub next door, where we could get a smaller meal. Shieldag is a delightful town in a scenic area.

The location of this hotel is stunning. It looks out onto coastal scenery with a back drop of hill, peaks and mountains. It is remote. There is a shop next door that sells essentials, and a bar/restaurant the other side that is open as an alternative to the in-hotel dining options. There is also a coffee shop about 100m away, but... More

As frequent and enthusiastic visitors to Tigh An Eilean over the past decade, we were saddened on our most recent visit (Sept 2014) by the hotel's apparent decline. The predominantly Polish staff were helpful and anxious to please (albeit seemingly overworked) in the absence of the owners and the hotel's once-superlative cuisine was distinctly ho-hum. The rooms have always been... More

Lovely friendly hotel. Great food in the hotel restaurant and in the pub next door. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. So much better than many of the Highland hotels which attempt to get away with the minimum and just rely on the scenery to keep customers happy.

Extremely friendly and attentive service. Our room was a good size, with a lovely en suite, and the best views of the bay. Our evening meal in the quiet restaurant was delicious, and breakfast could not be bettered. Just loved the scrambled egg and smoked salmon, and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice.
