Fabulous place to stay! Very welcoming, and the staff were great! Would definitely stay again! Spent 5 nights staying and was treated very nicely! Placed in a beautiful village as well with friendly locals who are keen to help all the time! Definitely recommend staying!

Visited this area recently in November. Was recommend to eat here and ended up going twice during our short stay. Good is amazing, absolutely excellent. Menu changed each night and all freshly made. Couldn't be friendlier with the service. Highly recommend this place. Lovely location as well. We strolled around the harbour after or meal.

Delicious food, friendly staff who were very welcoming. Lovely log fire. Very obliging, went out to get me a lobster as requested! I would highly recommend, the nicest place I've ever stayed in Scotland. X Ann

We have been staying in Cromarty for 11 days. During this time we've visited the hotel bar on several occasions, sometimes just for an early evening drink, but we've also eaten there twice - would have liked to there eaten more given half the chance!! The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The menu is great, a good variety of... More

The Royal enjoys an excellent location, with great views. The food at dinner was very good. However, it was not a particularly friendly hotel. Also, breakfast was disappointing. The fruit 'offer' was 4 segments of grapefruit...a fruit which many people on various medications cannot eat. The hotel's biggest problem, however, is its very poor 'value for money'; quite the poorest... More

We had lunch on a day trip to Cromarty . (We being family of three generations .) We all said how amazing the food was and how friendly the staff were. This is somewhere we will definitely return to ,and have been telling friends and family to visit.

On a day trip out to Cromarty stopped here for a quick lunch. Menu had plenty of choice. local produce and seafood. Had the daily special of langoustine platter beautiful fresh seafood simply delicious. Handmade proper chips very tasty. Children's menu good choice and generous portions. Staff welcoming and friendly. Good place to eat. Loved the open fire!

We have just toured Scotland and stayed in a variety of accommodation, B and B and hotels. We were disappointed with the accommodation at the Royal Hotel and do not think it is value for money. The hotel itself is 'shabby' and 'old' although the lounge bar area is OK . The owner does say in the information that work... More

Is 80 pounds much for dinner for three adults? I don't think so. Tasty, well served, good wine.I could have had a little more lobster, but it was enough. We were seated in the winter garden, well out of the wind, Inside it was rather "hot". The wine was well chilled, though. Rather in the winter garden at the sun... More

Another stay at the Royal Hotel for our family holiday. The warm welcome, food on offer & comfortable, clean rooms means this hotel punches well above its weight. Most of the food in the restaurant comes from the sea outside the door or the owner's family farm 5 miles away so this makes for a delicious meal with the freshest... More
