We were staying in the area and decided to treat ourselves to a night out. We ordered the seafood platter and were incredibly disappointed. Instead of fresh seafood, it consisted mostly of smoked salmon and smoked mackerel - and even this was not good quality. This cost us £50 and there was no fresh fish on it - yet there... More

This was a nostalgic trip to the hotel as the last time that I stayed there was in the 1950's. We had the Oscaig Room which was excellent with a view looking out to the Summer Isles. One minor problem is a step on route to the bathroom. We ate in the Restaurant on the 3 course meal which was... More

We saw an ad. in a magazine called Life which comes with the weekly Stathspey Herald and it was offering a Special Dinner, Bed and Breakfast for £89.50 pppn sharing and including their special Signature Dinner. My wife and I thought it very tempting as we had stayed there years ago when it was run by Robert Irvine and his... More

We stayed just for one night at the Summer Isles hotel. We arrived later than planned but were given a warm welcome by the maitre'd. Our room was spacious and comfortably furnished. We ate in the bar which perhaps lacked ambiance but the service was good and the seafood platter was excellent. We awoke the next morning to a stunning... More

Having stayed at the Summer Isles before, I found the food in the main dining room a major disappointment. The Log House cottage was wonderful and the staff helpful. Cafe/bar food was very good. However vs expectation, the dining room experience tainted the visit.

My wife and I were looking for somewhere special to celebrate our wedding anniversary weekend and we found just the place at the Summer Isles Hotel. We were fortunate to stay in a deluxe double room which was just beautifully presented - king size bed on a mezzanine level, spacious bathroom and extremely comfortable sitting area to relax. On arrival... More

Camping locally we saw the Summer Isles Hotel and thought we would pop in for a coffee. Never had the coffee as we were tempted by the seafood platter instead. And so glad we were. Two hours later after some of the freshest seafood ever we were already talking about coming back the next day!

I suppose you have to consider this hotel's standard in the context that it is in one of the most remote locations in Scotland. However, not sure it's self-billing as a luxury hotel is accurate. We stayed in a sea view room and I'm so glad we did....in that part of the world, the view of the Summer Isles is... More

This is remote Scotland at the end of a half hour drive on single track roads. IF you get the weather its great. But even if the weather is bad good staff can make the holiday. You are not going to get cheap hotel prices simply because it is off the beaten track and does not operate 365 days a... More
