We arrived in Fort Augustus and booked in to Stravaigers, the reception staff were friendly, the twin room was absolutely fine for what we needed, a place to sleep, the showers were fine, plenty warm water, only fault is the floor was very slippy so be careful, the bar was nice, again, very friendly staff, we didn't eat here but... Having reviewed the camping ground at thissite previously I thought it would be apt to say a few words about the hostel lodge here, the recently opened Stravaigers lodge backs on to the campsite and is ideal for those of you like me who are getting a little to old and stiff for camping , specially in scotlands unpredictable weather... Again more Scottish hospitality, friendly greeting and very helpful. The beds were comfy, although it's not ensuite, the bathrooms were heated all day with under floor heading so it was great on my hiking ravaged feet, and they're was hot water which is all I had dreamt about during the snow storm on the mountains! The attached restaurant did good... More

This was our 4th visit here and yet again a good clean friendly service, rooms are very basic but clean, the toilet and shower block is clean on arrival but could be cleaned more regularly, as there are two of us sharing a room and if you include breakfast into the price i wouldn't consider this a cheaper option than... This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this site. In 2014 we camped on Cumberland's Campsite and this year we returned and stayed in their Hostel Stravaiger's Lodge. Last July we camped there, extending our stay as the Campsite was so good. At that time the 'hostel' building was not finished but the onsite Restaurant and Bar was... More

After days in Knoydart wild camping we stayed here on route to Glen Affrich. Excellent facilities, though clearly winding down for the off season. Room excellent for two and kitchen adequate even though there could have been more cooking utensils and general kitchen ware. We would certainly stay here again, the staff were friendly, Fort Augustus is lovely and the... More

It says it is a hostel, but they only have private rooms and the building feels like it is falling apart even though it's rather new. 30 pounds for a single room without breakfast or a towel is not cheap under these conditions. Don't know how vamping is. But staff was nice and the food was ok.

Excellent value. Clean and modern toilet and showering facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The campsite is in a central location and so within easy walking distance to shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.

Spent one night here to give us good access to both shores of Loch Ness. The room was basic but very comfortable, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the facilities were very good. The showers do need a little more furnishing; a few more hooks or a shelf would be very helpful. Apart from this, no qualms about... More

Have now stayed here on several occasions. Camping and in the lodge. Excellent site and staff let down by totally inadequate showers and toilets. Only 3 showers in each and when all 3 are in use at the same time, well lets say it's poor.
