My wife and I and our two young daughters stayed in a very comfortable family room (double bed and a bunk bed) with a spotlessly clean ensuite bathroom. The shower (the most important thing for me) was hot and powerful- a very pleasant surprise after many previous experiences in hostels (and hotels) around the world. The staff were also very... More

I stayed here for two nights on a Haggis Adventures Tour. Nice clean place not to badly priced! Had great fun at the in house bar, Staff were great fun at the quiz night! Had a great one man band the second night, but we'd all had too much fun the night before to appreciate him fully. Highly recommend this... More

The hostel was well located near the centre of the (small) town (bikes are available to hire). The staff were friendly and our room was good with an excellent bathroom facility. Loch Ness itself didn't provide many walking opportunities around the loch, so I would recommend one of the boat trips. The kitchen was small and the dining room wasn't... More

Thank-you for your review! We are the perfect spot for exploring Loch Ness and the surrounding area by foot, by bike, or on the water with Nessie herself! There is numerous hiking trails and cycling routes accessible from the hostel and we can provide maps and advice on where to go. We have a fully stocked self-catering kitchen but we... More

My daughter(25) and I(62) were on a cycling holiday along the Great Glen in the last week of August 2014. We stayed at Morag's on 25th, total cost was £52 for a twin room (there was room for 4 people) and we paid £3.60 each for breakfast. When I booked the room, I thought that Morag's was a guesthouse, whereas... More

A good solid hostel. Clean, spacious, accommodating, very comfortable beds. Optional breakfast and dinner for (£3.60 and £7.80 respectively) - Balmoral Chicked was delicious, so were the Veggie Pie. Burgers and chips (wedge fries) left something to be desired but the portions were ample. Bar in the Hostel was awesome. The pub quiz (and Callum(?) I believe it was running... More

Thank-you for your review Kathryn! We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and found our beds comfy and staff entertaining. We pride ourselves on our hearty meals - the Balmoral Chicken is infamous and our home-made monster burgers use local beef (not the cute hairy coo's!) but we take on board your comments and constantly review and tweak... I stayed here for 2 nights only a few days ago as part of a tour i was doing through Scotland. Cute hostel with a friendly vibe. You can get breakfast and dinner each day for around £11 which i thought was good value.

This was my first time at a hostel, and it went well! Check-in process is quick and efficient. They have a breakfast/dinner offer that is well priced. There is a bar that seems to have different events going on every night. Big thanks to Bridie at the bar for her superb customer service! I would definitely recommend this for short... More
