For comfort. hospitality and food and a real highland welcome you just can't beat "The Caley". We love it and have no hesitation in recommending it. It appears to be the favourite of the locals. We will return. more

Spent three nights DBB here. Wonderful friendly staff who looked after every need. Accommodation is a good size and very comfortable. Hearty breakfast and dinner cooked to order with a varied menu. Wonderful home cooked food and attentive friendly waiting staff. Friendly bar and lounge area downstairs extends the welcome. (even a putting green out the back!). An excellent base... more

We were on our way back from a wedding on the west coast to Edinburgh and had booked in advance. We weren't expecting much as we had booked at late notice but were pleasantly surprised the service was great, rooms clean and food was excellent. If I am ever back in Fort Augustus I know where to go. more

A wonderful welcome, lovely room , fantastic food and memorable for all the right reasons. It's the kind of hotel you don't see enough of anymore and I feel so lucky that I found it. A one night stop-over changed into a week long stay because of the lovely welcome I received! more

On a week-long driving tour of the Highlands this was by far our favourite place to stay. Run by a lovely and incredibly hard-working family, with huge rooms, comfy beds and great showers. Breakfast was massive and amazing and I stuffed myself on their excellent sausages. Fort Augustus is a terrific little town with some great pubs and a jaw-droppingly... more

This is a 3* hotel with 5* cuisine. There is nothing pretentious about this hotel at all.It is a small family run place with friendly staff.the place is absolutely spotless,no mod cons, but more than adequate fot the traveller. There is only one sitting for evening meal, announced with a gong, but definately not to be missed.Breakfast is equally good and tasty too.... more

This was our third time (2003, 2006, 2008) at the Caledonian and it has consistently high standards and represents the very essence of Scottish hospitality. The rooms have always been very clean (if a little bit creaky), the staff have always been very helpful and friendly, and the food fantastic. There is a nice bar, bowling and putting green, a... more
