Small but perfectly formed, with a family atmosphere, cosy beds, great bar and excellent locally sourced food. Hearty breakfasts and nourishing, classic dinners with good wines. Worth every penny. Also mine host is a font of local knowledge.

There is very little I can add to what others have said. The place is GREAT. It has the best porridge in Scotland. Be sure to order it before bedtime. Chris also has one of the better stocked scotch bars that I've come across. He very graciously helped me sample many of the ones I had never tried before. Thanks... More

We are 2 lady walkers who experienced such amazing Highland hospitality and kindness from Chris who helped us out during our Great Glen walk last week. His generosity was much appreciated and ......we weren't even residents! Thank you from Lesley and Alison. We'll be back for the ceilidh!

Found by accident - just driving through and liked the town. The place across the street was too expensive, so checked with The Caledonian - Chris showed us the room and was so friendly we decided to stay. Great choice! He was so much fun - got us out with the locals on the lawn bowling green! We decided to... More

We really enjoyed staying here the past week, very homely hotel, cozy, clean, nice room and good food. The landlords were friendly and fun, the service was perfect and we greatly appreciated the real ale and unconventional whisky assortment in the bar. And very close to the locks an the lake, just a few minutes walk. So, all in all,... More

The room was huge!! Nice and clean with a big bathroom too. The staff were great and the food at dinner and then breakfast the next day was amazing. My tastebuds loved it! The croissant that was freshly baked there tasted better than the ones i'd had it Paris! I would recommend this hotel to everyone travelling to Fort Augustus... More

We found the owners very friendly, and always willing to help in any way. A very comfortable older style hotel with spacious bedrooms, very good bathrooms. The food was excellent. A lovely Scottish breakfast, really tasty evening meals with ample vegetables (not always found elsewhere). We left a coat behind which they sent back to us promptly. Thank you all... More

Caledonoan Hotel is in a great location close to centre of the village. The room was big with a very comfortable bed. Good craic in the bar and excellent breakfast in the morning too to help with the pains from the night before! Thank you for a great stay!
