So friendly Margaret makes you feel at home even though it is her business. Nice views over the woodland, even the birds visit for the breakfast. Nothing is to much trouble all facilities clean & tidy.

Dear Magaret , It was an amazing stay for me and my wife . very nice and clean room with amazing view . Very aloof from the hustle bustle of the city life. Breakfast was also lipsmacking and overall experience was terrific for us.

We stayed here for 2 nights with friends while walking the Great Glen Way and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The plain exterior appearance of this accommodation belies the quality of the rooms and facilities provided. Margaret, our host, is very accommodating and friendly. All the rooms are comfortable and well appointed and both full breakfasts were excellent. Wi-Fi is... More

This B&B is actually quite a way out of the village of Fort Augustus - definitely walking distance but perhaps not the best location if you are planning on spending most of your time down around the locks. It is perfectly located for the Great Glen Way however - the route passes right by the front door! I booked a... More

Loved this nice spot, very convenient to the town and Great Glen Way. Quiet, clean, and welcoming. Margaret was a superb hostess. Breakfast was also a standout. Free Wifi was a plus, as was Margaret's willingness to find a nice pack for a hiker's sore foot.

My sister and I stayed here not too long ago for 2 nights, as we had a bad mix up at a place up the road and weren't going to get what we paid for so we chose to stay a Thistle Dubh, which was great choice and well worth the money for a B&B! Our host Margaret welcomed us... More

Set in 6 acres of glorious Scottish countryside. A friendly welcome from Chico. Lovely clean room and bathroom. Nice breakfast cooked fresh by a very chatty proprietor. Be sure to take your boots off before entering the house.

We booked this at the last minute and did not know what to expect. How very surprised we were to find such an immaculately clean place to stay - all rooms were a good size and very tastefully decorated. the B&B is a couple of kms out of town but that is an advantage - it was so peaceful and... We were walking the Great Glen Way and were so exhausted by the time we got to Fort Augustus (and this seems like the bright lights compared to where we'd been earlier). We rang Margaret to say we were on our way once we'd eaten and Gordon picked us up. Fantastic, we were so grateful. We got a massive room... More
