I've stayed at the Benleva on several occasions in the past, the last being about five years ago and had always been very impressed with the welcoming staff, excellent food and drink and comfortable accommodation. Having not visited in a while I did wonder if things would match up to my fond memories. I was not disappointed! I stayed for... More

We stayed here for one night while walking the Great Glen Way. The room was comfortable and clean and there is a great pub downstairs with a wide range of good beers and whisky. The food was average comfort pub fare.

Stayed here for the beer festival. It's clean, warm, spacious, and the staff are helpful and efficient. Rocco provided outstanding sea food in the restaurant. If you want 5 star hotel, stay elsewhere. If you want local Scottish hospitality and friendli-ness (new beer name lads?) stay here. It's all in the attitude (yours). See you soon.

We checked in here for 2 nights after our booked accomodation turned out to be unsuitable(but thats a whole different review). Room was clean tidy and spacious enough for ourselves and our long legged pooch. Had a drink in the bar with the locals and all their dogs which was nice. We dined here on the first night. Food was... More

My husband and I stopped in to stay for a night during our jaunt through Scotland. We had planned to visit Urquart Castle and were pleasantly surprised to find that the Benleva Hotel was very close! The staff was wonderful, helpful and friendly. Dinner was excellent (fish & chips, homemade mushroom soup, salad, slaw, and an amazing desert) and the... More

The staff seemed very nice, except for the feigned surprise over the fact that our room had not been cleaned; they must read these reviews, no? The place is old and dirty. The building has potential, but the beds are old and saggy, there is mold in the showers. I can't even be sure the sheets were clean in our... More

Called in here a couple of days for the beer festival, good beer and staff in outside beer tent were ok. First day Young girl in the main pub looked at us as if we were something she found on bottom of her shoe, 2nd time my husband went to inside bar the barman was also rude, no hi's please... More

when we arrive the lady seemed pretty overwhelmed because she was running the bar and had to give us the keys. She didn't say "welcome" or anything to us, Just gave us the keys. None of our rooms had towels so we had to run down and get them. She was acted annoyed with us for asking for the towels.... More

It's difficult to know what to say about this place. It is very tired & grubby looking with heavily marked & stained tables. The staff seemed very helpful & almost over efficient. I hardly had time to choose what I wanted to eat. My husband had the haggis & mash - an enormous plateful & the haggis was local. He... More

So cheap they used a block of wood to keep the window open in our room. When I tried to remove it, the heavy window slammed down like a guillotine and snapped the bone on my little finger. The proprietor's response was appalling: he refused any pain relief, refused to allow his staff to take me to the nearest hospital.... More
