I beleive you must have the wrong hotel. There are many Sutherland Arms and Sutherland Inns in this part of the highlands. Your comments are certainly not inconnection with the Sutherland Arms Hotel Golspie. The hotel lobby, function room, restaurant and some bedrooms been refurbished for the past year, with great success!. The bedrooms are a good size and offer...
We stayed at this hotel by default. Had arrived back on the mainland from Orkney (what a place!!!!!). It was drizzly and getting dark, we went through a few little towns, but wanted, hm, well, a place with a bit of character. We got to Brora, were tired and hungry, and went into the little supermarket and asked where was... more
They rate themselves as an upmarket traditional Scottish hotel, but in fact it is overpriced, rather seedy and run down. Many of the rooms do not have a shower (only a bath). Dinner is basic and again overpriced. more
Stayed for a couple of days in late June. Friendly staff, good food and comfy rooms. Hotel is very biker friendly which was a major consideration when booking. Lovely location, good for exploring the Highlands. Thoroughly enjoyed stay. more
I would like to thank the staff and owners of the Sutherland Arms Hotel, Golspie for the excellent service and accomodation I received while staying recently. The food was fantastic, restaraunt was closed due to the late hour that I arrive but the bar staff very kindly prepared food very quickly. The room we were given was well decorated with... more
A little dimond. Friendly staff, good food and comfy bed what more could you ask for, fantastic base to explore Sutherland and Caithness. dont forget to go to Dunrobin castle and the castle of May. more
I recently stayed at the Sutherlan Arms hotel and found the place warm and welcoming. I believe the new owners have only been there since January this year (2007) and i am glad to say that i felt at home, the rooms were clean, warm and tidy with antique furniture to keep in with the tradition of the 200 year... more
A party of us stayed in the Sutherland Arms on 31/05/07 originally for 2 nights but thank god it ended up just being 1. We were attending a wedding on the 1/06/07 at Dunrobbin castle which was at 1o'clock, which the hotel was aware of, but were supposed to check out at 10.30am, to where who knows, and had to... more
Stayed with a few friends in the Sutherland Arms Hotel recently. We received an extremely warm and friendly welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were all clean and comfortable. They varied in size - go for room 14 if you can - the biggest and brightest of the lot. They have a lovely bar area, with a... more
