We arrived at Glenaladale after first eating dinner in Durness and calling to say we would arrive late. Katie welcomed us warmly and showed us to our room which had stunning views over Loch Eriboll. We walked to the lakeshore and watched the setting sun light up Ben Hope - a magical experience. We then slept with the curtains open... More

This b and b is in the middle of nowhere and it is heavenly. The setting is just amazing and the view from our room was breathtaking. The room itself was fine, clean and big enough and breakfast was lovely. Katie was lovely also. A delightful stop.

We stayed with Katie and Donnie near Durness after a long ferry trip and then drive from Ullapool (for the record poor Caladonian MacBridge should say: ferry is meant to depart and arrive but we make allowances for cretins who can't drive on and off a ferry). We ran late and Katie was happy for us to eat in Durness... More

First of all you have to be aware that you have to drive some minutes to get to Durness or any point of interest which was absolutely okay for us. You don't visit the very north of Scotland and expect high life. Instead we were rewarded with beautiful loch views and a cosy room at friendly hosts. We only stayed... More

I had a very peaceful and comfortable nights stay at Glenaladale, with a tremendously warm reception from Katie and Donnie. The B&B is perfectly kept, and the views are unbelievable, which adds to the quality of the stay.

Only a one night stay on route to Orkney, but could have stayed longer. What an incredible setting overlooking the loch. The room was clean and comfortable and had a blackout blind as it didn't really get dark. There is also a large lounge overlooking the loch with lots of books etc. It was such a beautiful weather the night... More

My husband and I had a very lovely stay with Katie and Donnie. We felt very welcomed, even though my husband had a bad cold, and they just couldn't have been nicer. They even gave us a private concert, which was an incredible treat. The place was spotless, the food was wonderful, and the location was a very special taste... More

A lovely overnight stay with Katie and Donnie. They are a very hospitable couple and made us very welcome in their home. Although it was late May the weather was cool and rainy, so Katie had a good fire going to welcome us into their sitting room. We followed her recommendation for dinner and enjoyed a good meal at the... More

This was our families 3rd visit + each time it gets better + better. Katie + Donnie make you more than welcome + feel like part of our family now. Rooms are immaculate, comfortable + better equipped than most hotels. Breakfast is delicious + freshly cooked. Stay once + you'll be back again
