This is, without doubt, the most beatiful place I have ever stayed. To say the service is outstanding is an understatement, the staff seemed to know what I wanted almost before I did! I truly felt special when I stayed here and it is in a league of its own. Quite rightly, it is not a hotel but rather a... More

Have had the chance to be at Skibo a couple of times in the last few years. This no ordinary place, you get the best of the Best. The quality of the service is superb, i did all of the activities you can imagine, swimming in the largest stainless steel pool in the world, shooting, horseback riding, a little golf,... More

As has been mentioned it is important to note that Skibo Castle is NOT an hotel, it is a private members club. While one may make an initial visit for further visits it is necessary to join The Carnegie Club. The Skibo estate was purchased in 1898 by the late Andrew Carnegie, the Scottish born American industrialist and philanthropist. He... More

A little slice of heaven on earth. A stunningly beautiful property, set within grounds that are breathtaking. The service is faultless, creating first class service with a homely feel. The gold course is one of the best I've played anywhere in the world, combining stunning views with a stern test.

I have been fortunate enough to visit Skibo Castle on many occasions over the last decade. The golf course is my passion and I have played at many great venues all around the globe, and as a professional I can honestly say that Skibo is top of my list. The course design is faultless with some of the best bunkering... More

Just played The Carnegie Club and it is incredible in so many ways. The layout is magnificent with not one weak hole and breathtaking scenery as an added bonus. I was fortunate to play with a member and this course is way better than most of the "old" links courses around the country but I just can't believe the rating... More

I spent three days at Skibo.it is not a hotel it is a private members club and you go by invitation of a member or as a member. Thank you for your comments about The Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle. Period. Not much more to say about Skibo. The Castle, the golf, the staff, the food, the views, the activities, the atmosphere. My favorite place on Earth. I've been coming here for 10 years and it just keeps getting better and better.

In short, we arrived with golf clubs and never saw our travel club case again. We asked for it the day before we were leaving and the staff said they would round it up. We ended up leaving our clubs to be shipped because Skibo apparently never found the travel case but didn't want to tell us - of course... More
