Having tried several other B&Bs in Dornoch, our group would no longer seek to book anywhere else. This is (by some distance) the friendliest place we have stayed in Dornoch, so much so we booked up for next year on the spot while we were checking out. The rooms are excellent, all very large and well appointed and our room... More

The Bank House was easily the most luxurious B&B of our trip to Scotland. The rooms are huge, with high ceilings, and comfortable beds with premium linens. This was the only B&B on our lengthy trip with a bathtub, which was a treat. Our room was at the back of the house, overlooking the garden, and was very quiet. Breakfast... More

We booked a room at the Bank House at 9 am this morning, but arrived at 4 pm to discover our room had been let to someone else. Apparently our names had not been written down in the register by the proprietress, and so her husband rented the room to someone else just before we arrived. Very disappointing after a... More

So very sorry this happened. The reservation call was made, as you say, at 9 am in the middle of breakfast service and I did not take a contact telephone number. The name given was Turner, which was a different name from yours. So I can only surmise that there was some confusion about the name. We had a room... More

We really enjoyed our stay at The Bank House. The owners were friendly, our room beautiful and large, and the breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend this B & B. The location is just a short walk from the town center and quiet.

Most B&Bs have very small rooms, which is fine. But, the rooms at the Bank House are enormous, and it was great to have a sitting area to relax, and a huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub. The location on the main street in town was convenient to everything.

Sadly the reality didn't quite match up to the way the establishment was portrayed on its website. The room was a good size but smelt damp every time we came back to it. Breakfast was well presented but we would have preferred not to have to engage in a "20 questions" session with the proprietor.

This is the most special place in the Highlands. Paul and Irene Hart who own the Bank House will make you very welcome in their beautifully restored and fitted home. Pretty garden if you get the weather and right in the heart of Dornoch - wonderful beach, great golf, handy for seeing the wonderful east coast of the Highlands. If... More

The owners ar very nice and helpful. Breakfast is served at one large dining room table which was lovely for talking to other travelers. Our room was extremely large, clean and comfortable -I wish I coul have taken it with us!
