With Badcall Bay at your feet, you're in one of the most beautiful spots Scotland has to offer. Located in the middle of the Highlands, beauty and serinity is guaranteed. The owners have used a lawnmower to mow a path around the area, which takes about 20 minutes to see, but you are given a perfect tour of the bay... more

What a find! Sublime location, peace and quiet, comfortable accommodation, limited choice of fresh and imaginatively-prepared food, unlimited choice of single malts, friendly staff (yes, the owner is formal but not pompous). Wish we had planned our itinerary differently and could have stayed a bit longer. Amazing value for money. more

Stayed here as part of a group of 16. only a couple of other guests staying at the same time. Rooms comfortable, hotel and gardens very pleasant. Waiting staff extrememly helpful and food fabulous. The owner/manager is a pompous, patronising and unwelcoming person who seems to consider guests as an untidy addition to his property. Seating, although extensive, wasn't to... more

Lovely location overlooking Badcall bay. Manager/owner is quite formal but we couldn't fault his competence and knowledge so I could get used to being called 'Ma'am'! Charming dining room where we had great food for dinner and breakfast. The menu is not extensive by any means but we only stayed one night so no chance to get bored, and the... more

Hosts are charming and all staff courteous and attentive. Rooms comfortable with all needs catered for to make you at home. Food delightful-we had difficulty selecting our meals -everything sounded delicious! Dinners and breakfasts were of a very high standard . The location of the hotel amongst the lush gardens and overlooking the bay is wonderful. We certainly intend to... more

Have read all the other reviews and found them pretty confusing. We were heading north after a very unpleasant stay in a hotel in Ullapool. We came across this hotel by accident. We were unsure if we would be able to afford it but we went in anyway. When inside it was very nice - the owner was on reception,... more

Fantastic location, shame about the aloof pompous mine host. Dinner was good, breakfast also good but a bit miserable (either/or). Missed opportunity to be excellent if the owner could have a warmer interface with his guests. I might recommend to a friend, but with comments! more

We were given a friendly greeting on arrival and found the staff friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room and en suite facilities appeared to have been recently refurbished, the bed was very comfortable and the whole hotel was very clean. The food was excellent and plentiful and we particularly liked their relaxing sun lounge. The hotel is ideally... more

The hotel sits in a beautiful position overlooking the bay. Our room was fine but the shower was very small and no bath. While everything is good, we felt we had to conform to a certain regime that was in place. From the tour on arrival which we noted was exactly the same for everybody - the same words used... more

This is a nice hotel,in a splendid location, excellent food and good value for money. I agree with earlier comments about the owner, who runs the hotel for his satisfaction not yours. The either/or choice for items on a full Scottish breakfast is a bit unusual,or tight, depending on you point of view, but I would recommend this hotel, once you`ve got over the inflexible owner. more
