Probably the best hotel in the area, and definitively the best food in the area. The two owners are a married couple, French and Scottish, and are very friendly, as are the staff. If you are going to the Scourie Wester Ross area, I would recommend a night, if only for the food.

My partner and I visited this hotel in July on a trip around the coast. The hotel itself is quite dated but it's very comfy and welcoming. The room had everything we needed. The grounds are lovely and we went for a bit of a walk about (beware of midges!). Dinner was delicious. My only issues were the atmosphere within... More

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back for dinner or lunch. We are sorry that the skipping CD and the fan annoyed you during dinner but may I suggest that the next time something in a hotel is annoying you that you let a member of staff know... More

This July, I've visited Eddrachilles for the second time, together with my son (17 years). We both appreciate the location, the atmosphere and the food of this hotel. There aren't too many hotels in Sutherland and something of this quality surely is a rare find. The owner is very friendly and an apt advisor for walks in the neighbourhood. The... More

We stayed at the hotel in May with my mother. We were very impressed by the quality of the food produced by the excellent French chef. The views from the dining room are spectacular and the hotel us on the doorstep of some of the most stunning scenery in the highlands. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Eddrachilles in June - this being the 9th year running that we have made an annual pilgramage from Somerset to the far north west of Scotland. I thought it was about time that I shared our experience with others looking for somewhere "slightly different" to stay in this most remote part of the UK. If you... More

This hotel is in a lovely quiet area with a couple of nice short walks down to the water. Our room was quite large but the bathroom was very dated. Food in the restaurant was pretty good. No wifi available in the room. Probably one of the better places to stay in this area of Scotland.

We stayed here in July 2012 on a driving tour of Sutherland and returned to Sutherland last week just to stay here. The hotel is in a wonderful setting, nestled between the trees on the shore of Badcall Bay. Richard, Isabelle and their staff are friendly and the food is the best we've ever had anywhere. The rooms are comfortable... More

There is something about the atmosphere at this hotel that is relaxing and warm. I'm not quite sure exactly why it came so near the top of the 9 places I stayed in Scotland in June but there are lots of plusses. I had a very pleasant double room to myself, the bathroom - yes, I had a bath, great... More

We come to the west coast every year in June for a week and have had good, very good, and not so good experiences (mostly just to do with luck). We enjoyed the full dinner, bed and breakfast hospitality that was on offer at Eddrachilles for a whole week, and enjoyed every minute of our time here. We were lucky... More

Had a lovely 'Lunch with a view' there on a quiet and wet Saturday. The welcome was warm and the service was efficient and friendly. We opted for some of the Lunch specials. The Rabbit terrine was wonderful and the fishcakes and French onion soup were equally enjoyed. The portions were good size (and good value!) and we had enough... More
