HOME OR AWAY?
May 5, 2009 | Trip type: Couples

As enthusiastic travellers me and my partner stay at alot of hotels and inns. We rate the places we stay by staff, apperances and value. The Bein Inn, after a very exhausting day traveling around fife, we decided to retire. We had a room booked in The Bein Inn and was looking forward to a nice comfortable night relaxing. As... more

Staff couldn't be more helpful. The food was excellent - among the best we have experienced. Met the owner and his son; they told us that they had taken over the hotel about 18 months previously. They took the time to ask us about all aspects of our stay and seemed genuinely interested in getting things right for their guests.... more

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Evening meal was excellent. Breakfast could have been better. Didn't like the fact that I had to ask for another cup of coffee, I think they should have supplied a pot to the table, also had to go looking for the milk. I think they could have had a better choice along with some... more

I understand quaint, I understand homely and I understand small. I am afraid that none of these phrases fully capture the true atmosphere of the Famous Bein Inn. Beautifully located, the surroundings are as effortless charming as the hotel is effortless shabby. I understand that writing bad reviews is a serious matter, impacting on the potential income of the hotel... more

Just had a great weekend away in Scotland and stayed at a great little cosy Inn. Friendly staff, amazing food and a unique venue. Rooms comfortable and warm. Lounge area inviting and chilled atmosphere, complete with roaring log fires, great place to relax after a scrumptious meal served in one of the quaint little bars or the restaurant. Thanks to... more

Billed as Scotland's best Music Inn, to visit this pub/hotel is to travel back to an uncomfortable, cold and scruffy 1975. The pub part of the Bein Inn is tatty, but probably what you would expect in this sort of location. However, journey to the annexe, where the bedrooms are located, and you are back in the 70s. The rooms... more

Whilst it is always good to receive feedback I feel the above comments are unfair and misleading. We are a Country Inn in the middle of a wooded glen. In November it can become cold. However the rooms are cosy and warm. We have four groung floor rooms with double glazing and a lounge area. These are very popular rooms...

We visited this hotel to see Dean Friedman perform in their wee music room. We had a fab time. The service was really quite nice and friendly. We were taken to our room when we arrived, the woman who showed us to our room explained that we should book for dinner. I went down after we had got settled into our... more
