The Barley Bree is located about 8 miles south of Crieff and about a15 minute drive from the famous Glen Eagles hotel and golf course. It is a family run affair, describing itself as a Restaurant with rooms, which is a great description as the restaurant experience is just fantastic.... but don't think that means the rooms are in anyway... more

We stayed at this wonderful place for two nights for a friends birthday. There were 11 of us in total, so we took up all the accomodation!!! The rooms have recently been refurbished and are lovely and clean, with really comfortable beds, the staff are very attentive, without being "in your face" and along with the owners Fabrice and Alison... more

Today we visited this lovely restaurant for lunch (to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary) and it was a real treat. Both my husband and I agreed it was the best food we have had this year and we have dined in some good city restaurants. We enjoyed rabbit, hake, beef and delicious desserts - the chef has a real talent....... more

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Barley Bree in Crieff, and it definitely lives up to its reputation. The food is renowed, but we also found the wine list to be extensive and very reasonably priced - an added bonus. The owners (Alison and Fabrice) and very welcoming, and we loved the food so much... more

We spent one night here for our first anniversary and had the pleasure of enjoying lunch, dinner and then breakfast the following morning. Could not fault the quality of the food, wine or service. Rooms are comfortable, clean and homely. Good value too, would definitely return and have recommended to a number of my friends. more

We stayed two nights at Barley Bree and loved everything. Its a small family run business with a lovely welcoming , local feel and personal touch. The rooms are very clean and comfortable however the highlight is definately the restaurant. We started with a lovely bottle of temprinello in the lounge area , then moved to the restaurant for the... more

Fantastic hospitality, second only to the exquisite food (and a great wine list). Once you've eaten, drunk and been merry ... roll straight into bed - they haven't scrimped on anything - and when you wake up in the morning and think it was all a dream ... the French chef / owner will rustle up a breakfast fit for... more

I spent 2 nights staying at the Barley Bree rooms in Rural Perthshire. At first I had no expectation of where I was staying but from the moment I arrived and where greeted by the owners Fabrice and Alison I instantly felt at home. The rooms themselves where clean and tidy but the highlight was definitely the restaurant, staff and... more

We have never visited this part of Scotland before, but boy are we glad we did. The area is stunning with wonderful country side and places to visit, but Barley Bree made our stay even more special. Alison and Fabrice, the owners, could not have made us more welcome. The accomodation was lovely and clean, the staff could not have... more

This place is amazing. It's located in a small town in the heart of some of the loveliest scenery in Scotland. We only stayed one night but it would have been great to stay longer. The food was absolutely delicious, the service friendly and the wine list extensive. Will definately by coming back for more! Good luck for the future... more
