Booked in to the Fortingall Hotel Restaurant for an end of holiday treat having spent 2 weeks staying nearby. Surprisingly for a Friday evening there was only one other table occupied. We've stayed at this hotel several times, and could not be happier with the location, service or food. Fortingall is a beautiful hamlet in Perthshire, and the hotel has a lovely garden from which to enjoy the views - and red squirrels. We live locally so have eaten in the bar a few times. We ate again there recently and felt the food was very disappointing - perhaps a different chef on duty? I had a goat's cheese salad which when i'd had it before a couple of months previously was amazing. This one was horrible, with some boiled brocolli and disgusting... more

We were only planning to stay one night but were so impressed with the area and service at fortingall we decided to stay a second night.
