Loved our stay at this truly lovely place with lovely people. You book an experience for all senses here: a culinary highlight in the middle of nature. Please do reserve at the missing bell home cooking restaurant: whether you're vegetarian, vegan or have any dietary requirement: it will creatively be taken into consideration. The breakfast was simply the best vegetarian... More

This is B&B is not a destination it's an experience! We arrived to be greeted warmly by Patrick who took us upstairs to the beautiful vaulted ceilinged room which is used as a guest lounge. The building was previously a church which has been lovingly restored by Keiko and Patrick. The acoustics in this room are of concert hall standard.... More

B&B holidays are fraught with the risk that an unknown place will be less than pleasant. The gods of the internet must have been smiling on us when we chose Eastward Guest House – the unknown place turned out to be WAY better and nicer than we could have imagined or expected! I assume that almost every tourist arrives tired... More

We only stayed for one night, arriving on the last ferry after a long journey. We were only able to sample breakfast. The fresh fruit salad was beautiful. The porridge was something different -the Mother of all porridge! The fresh ingredients for the main course (fish) were very fresh which made all the difference. Patrick and Keiko are passionate and... More

Patrick and Keiko are passionate about food, where it comes from and how it is cooked. We only had breakfast as we were catered for by family but the food was excellent and kept us going all day. On our first evening we arrived late due to car problems and were provided with an impromptu supper and glass of wine.... More

We booked Eastward House for a long weekend break in Orkney. We were intrigued by the variety of the food on offer and impressed by the reviews, and were not disappointed. Patrick & Keiko want guests to feel they are staying with friends so make every effort to make you feel at home. Patrick also provided some excellent suggestions as... More

Not at all just your run-of-the-mill bed and breakfast, the Eastward Guest House goes above and beyond to make sure guests have everything they need, including an incredibly abundant gustatory experience. I was pleasantly surprised to discover such outstanding gourmet fare in this rather remote location. Even the breakfasts are multi-course, with an emphasis on local produce featured in creative,... This is a B&B with a difference. The difference is the food which is some of the best I have ever tasted. There is a huge variety of different tastes which can be ordered in advance and none disappointed. Add to that some very special breakfasts which are a complete change from the normal bacon and eggs (although you could... More

Patrick and Keiko are not only the proprietors and excellent hosts of Eastward Guest House, but they're also amazingly skilled in the kitchen. Unfortunately, we hadn't planned ahead enough to book one of their much praised multi-course dinners, so we had to settle for a sampling of their stellar breakfasts: fresh haddock poached in Sancerre; hot smoked salmon warmed over... My wife and I were looking for comfortable place to stay as a base for a long weekend travelling around Orkney when I found Eastward Guest house through a link on the Pentland Ferry web site and what a great find it turned out to be. Our host Patrick and his family could not have been more hospitable. We had... More
