Very reasonably priced. It's not exactly The Ritz by first impression, once inside its done up very nicely. Lovely dining area, clean toilets. Good menu with homemade and inventive recipes. Good quality. Friendly staff. A family feel to the place. Good fun watching the funny chickens outside. Yet to experience the hotel but will do that next time

We stopped at the Taversoe for lunch on a walking trip in Rousay, remembering how good it had been the previous year. Home-made soup, Westray crab sandwiches (generously filled), hand-cut chips and plenty of tea all made for an excellent meal. The staff are delightful and very helpful, and the bill was more than reasonable. We shall be there again... More

My husband and I had a lovely lunch here whilst on a day trip. The ham in my sandwich was very tasty and the sandwich was well filled. My husband isn't keen on sandwiches and the waitress said it was possible to have the ham with egg and chips. It's so lovely when the menu isn't fixed. I finished off... More

We stopped off here for lunch in the course of a day spent on the beautiful island of Rousay. We had Cullen Skink and it was really good, as was the welcome we received. The dining area has a very fine sea view which added to the enjoyment - as did the very modest bill at the end. Definitely recommended.

We stayed at the Taversoe several years ago when the current owner had just taken over. We were pleased to see that although the facilities have been updated the Taversoe has retained its charm and character. The resident's lounge was a welcome haven after a 3 day journey from SW France, we enjoyed the peace and quiet until late in... More

The staff are so friendly and helpful, they really make you feel at home (even though we only went for a drink and then lunch on two separate occasions). The food is fantastic quality and very very reasonably priced, especially considering it's remote location. Astounding view from the restaurant an added bonus.

Passing by on a day trip, we called in for drinks and was lured into lunch with promise of Cullen skink, one of our favourite soups. We were not disappointed, it was one of the best with local ingredients. Sorbet puds were homemade and kids loved milk shakes with Orkney ice cream. Good to see a dog friendly pub with... More

Popped here for lunch on a day trip to Rousey. Great location, just half an hour or so walk from the ferry terminal, so ideal for a stroll along the road to view the three burial chambers on that stretch of coastline. Fantastic views from the beer garden, lovely lunch menu, delicious food and great service.

I stayed for 3 nights last week with a friend in a twin room. The room was cosy, warm and clean with plump pillows and a comfortable mattress. There's a lounge for guests with an amazing dvd collection if you get stuck in on a very wet day! The breakfast was plentiful and absolutely delicious. We had our dinners there... More
