Upon arrival Doris showed me to my room, lovely lady, rather attractive! The breakfast was big, which was about the only thing! my bed was small and firmer than the ones at Skara Brae! overall the breakfast was good and i suppose the accommodation is good for the price! eat breakfast for your moneys worth.

We stayed two nights at the Orca. Certainlly was great value and the rooms clean and comfortable. The Host was welcoming and very helpful. The location is great for the ferry and central to everything in Stromness. Breakfast was very good and tasty.

We stayed two nights in June - our after midnight arrival on the bus from the Aberdeen ferry was no problem. Neither was leaving our luggage on our last day - we caught the evening bus back to Kirkwall. The room was clean and tidy, the beds warm and comfortable. Breakfast was superb - tasty and plentiful, with variety too.... More

Orca hotel was a great place to stay in Stromness. The room was cozy, and the host was welcoming and helpful. There doth exist a fantastical view of thee wharf of the high night northern seas. Breakfast was great, and they were able to accommodate our dietary needs. Go for it!

We stayed three nights in late August. This hotel is just a few steps from the ferry landing, the bus stop (public buses run all over Orkney), shops and restaurants, local museums and sites of interest. Our room was compact, warm and spotless: one of the cleanest places we stayed. We felt very welcome, and the breakfasts were super (great... More

This is a small family run Hotel, most importantly is the fact that it was clean and warm...good nights sleep, great breakfast, owner more than happy to help, only problem, finding a place to park your car...other than that, Good value for money !

We stayed four nights. The rooms are small, clean and quiet. The breakfast is well prepared and generous. You won't find luxury here. But you will find a good place to sleep, a welcoming owner and cook, and a good location. It's a good value in an expensive place to visit.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Orca, although having read the negative comments on here I was a bit worried. I needn't have been the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was done as I requested with plenty to eat. I will stay here again.

I stay at the Orca with my mate as we went there to move his father back to the main land after living in Orkney for 33 years. We found the hotel basic but clean, & very friendly,& after 12 hours on the road it was nice to find a nice comfortable & warm bed. The breakfast was very good... More
