The owners were helpful and friendly. The hostess was a wonderful cook/baker. It was a good location - though a little hard to find in the dark on the narrow streets of Stromness. The rooms were comfortable and clean. I would stay here again. more

Very clean, comfortable, friendly and helpful and excellent breakfasts - try the veggie breakfast, esp. the veggie sausage even if you are not a vegetarian, so nice plus freshly made bread, cakes, drop scones. Stomess perfect base for diving and travel anywhere. more

We stayed in the Harbourside, an annexe to Miller's House just next door. Our room was comfortable and scrupulously clean with tea+coffee, TV, radio, trouser press, hair dryer. Breakfasts, in Miller's House, are amazing with a superb choice of cereal, juice, cheese, home-made yoghurt and home-baked bread plus freshly cooked local produce - a delicious way to put on weight... more

My husband, myself and 10 year old son arrived in the evening, and had a little difficulty finding Miller's House, as the streets are narrow in Stromness and the house set back. Mrs. Dennison was very welcoming and got a set up in a very spacious, spotlessly clean room. The breakfasts were excellent; I only wish we were used to... more

Stayed Autumn 2007. Due to bad weather we arrived late but were greeted with sympathy and were showed to a room that far surpassed what we expected, especially at the price paid. Breakfast served on 1 long table allowed us to meet other guests and share travel experiences. The food, some of it home baked, was amongst the best fry... more

My husband and I spent two nights in the Harbourside Guesthouse. The location is excellent and especially convenient if you come in on the ferry from Scrabster. Our room was a decent size. The decor is not luxurious, but it's quite homey. The owners are extremely friendly, and the breakfasts were excellent. I agree with the reviewer who loved the... more

First the positives: the owners are very friendly and helpful, the accommodation is very handy for the ferry and central to Stromness and the breakfast was generous and good quality. On the down side, the room decor was fairly dated and it was cold - we needed the extra heating on in June (no central heating). The owners have not... more

This is a nice B&B in Stromness, which I think is more intimate and charming than Kirkwall. The breakfast is superb - we had probably the best scones we've ever had. Maureen said she made them from her mother's recipe. Both Maureen and Magnus were very nice. Our room was in the Harbourside Guest House, which is a separate building... more

We arrived in Stromness at 8:30 PM on our first day of driving on the left, and did not want to have to navigate in the dark. One reason we chose this B&B--other than the good reviews--was its location near the ferry. They do not have parking, but the public parking nearby was fine. The breakfasts were excellent, including lots... more
