Three of us stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed every moment of it, a minor hiccup with the water heating but as a Good Hotel should they sorted it out with out blinking an eye full marks for that, even tho it was not their fault hot water elements can blow at the most inconvenient times and i am... Only called here for a coffee: espresso listed at £2.20 - OK, byt asked how much double espresso and was informed with deadpan expression and no further comment 'twice that price' Coffee-lover that I am, I refuse to pay £4.40 for a small cup of coffee, however good, and one which even Costa would have 'only charged about £2.90 for.... Although the rooms are out the back on a street they were well stocked with tea and coffee and were clean. Bed was only a double and was quite hard. Unfortunatley you could hear other people using bathroom and walking around. Food in the hotel was good and the staff were very helpful with forward bookings and printing out boarding... More

Had a very nice, quick stay here. Got in late due to ferry, but was greeted warmly and efficiently. The lady who checked us in (Julie) was very nice and made sure we had dinner (which was delicious). We were in the annex and our room was clean and comfy. Breakfast was good too. Very handy location for ferry and... More

Thank you for taking time to give us this review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Your kind words are very much appreciated. We are pleased to say that we have had a very busy summer. Last winter we closed for several months to refurbish the whole of the downstairs, including the bar and restaurant. We have also... More

Booked in for 5 nights . solo motorcycle rider ,made very welcome , room 12 was very small, it would be better as a storage area for the hotel, the last set of stairs were far to steep to be, dare i say safe , i know its a very old and respected hotel, but to put a 60 year... More

Thank you for your review. The rooms at the Ferry Inn are all different. You stayed in room 12 which is our smallest and cheapest room. This tends to be a popular room for people travelling on their own and on a budget. We do get quite a lot of return visitors asking specifically for this room as it suits... More

Only visited the pub for an afternoon beer. Although it was a lovely day we sat in because if you go outside you get a plastic glass. Going in there was an overwhelming smell of chip fat and stale beer with something a bit musty underlying. Barmaid was very nice but pub was quiet and all the tables were dirty.... More

Thank you for your review. It sounds like you came to see us just after one of the coach tours that eat with us at lunch time had just left. If this was the case, the tables would all have been used and staff would have been in the process of clearing up. Had you come in 10 minutes later,... More

The staff at the Ferry Inn are both very friendly, and efficient. Our room in the grim looking annexe was clean and properly serviced, and the bedding was fresh and newish, but we thought the Ferry had little else to commend it, and nothing to justify our £90 a night. Self service breakfast on the first day was bad -... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in July 2013. Our room was a 4-bed one in the "Harbourside House" (an annex across the lane, not in the actual inn itself), with two beds and a bunk - felt slightly cramped for 3 adults and 1 teenager but would probably be perfect for a family. The room was nice, clean and... More

Thank you for recommending us. You are right that room 24 is probably best suited to a family with children in the bunk beds. However, it remains a popular option for groups of 4 adults who might be looking for a cheaper option - just ask the smallest adult to go on the top bunk! More
