We stayed at Burnside for 3 nights during October. We have to say it was one of the best places we have ever stayed! Facilities were great and the breakfast was amazing! We were made too feel very welcome and would definitely stay again! Shame we missed the northern lights!

Thank you for taking the time to give us your generous review. On a dark winter day such as this - it certainly lifted my spirits to read it. Thank you for being such lovely guests. More

We absolutely loved the Burnside B & B. Joy is a wonderful proprietor and made us feel so welcome! From her cookies to her huge breakfasts, she took great care of us. Our room and bath were first class. We were surrounded by comfort while having a great view of Stromness. We highly recommend this special B & B.

We stayed at the Burnside Farm in June, 2013. The location is within easy walking distance of Stromness, yet far enough away, that you feel that you aren't staying in town. Burnside sits atop a hill with wonderful views of Hoy, and Stromness harbor. Joy is a lovely hostess.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Burnside Farm and enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The location is convenient to all locations on Mainland you may want to visit and within Stromness itself, it is near the center of town but outlying enough to be peaceful and quiet. It sits atop a hill overlooking the harbor and town providing... More

The B&B was very accessible and tho we drove it seems it would be an easy walk from the Stromness ferry dock. Our room was up an easy flight of stairs, it was a good size room and full of amenities, like being able to adjust your heat yourself. The bathroom was great, with a showerhead that does not skimp... We spent only one night at Burnside B&B but it was lovely. The room felt just like we were staying at grandma and grandpa's place complete with doilies. The bathroom was modern with an excellent hot shower and all the amenities of a first class hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the entire place spotless. In the morning we... More

This is a well appointed small B&B. Lovely bathrooms, sumptuous bath and bed linen and comfortable beds. Joy goes out of her way to ensure you get the most out of your visit. We arrived off the ferry from Lerwick at about 11.30 pm and she still welcomed us at that hour! Can highly recommend. An added bonus is its... More

We had such a wonderful time at the Burnside Farm; the views were excellent, the beds were soft and comfy, and I even got to watch cows being milked! (a big thing for a suburb girl). Our bathroom was beautifully modern, and the bedrooms have all those quaint details you would expect from an old farmhouse B&B. I could have... More

We stayed five nights at Burnside Farm, and they were the most comfortable of our first three weeks in the UK. The Scapa View room looks out over Scapa Flow and Stromness, well furnished, very comfortable and with a fantastic bathroom (roomy, good water pressure for a nice hot shower). We were greeted with tea and home made treats, and... More
