Orkney was a major focus for our trip to Scotland and we enjoyed our time at the Mill of Eyrland. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The bathroom bright and clean and breakfast was timely and tasty. We felt at home and were able to explore the islands knowing we could return to the warmth of the Mill.

Morag and her team could not have done more for us during our stay at the Mill. Wonderful place, full of character, in a beautiful area of the main island - a memorable stay in a luxurious home. Thank you.

we stayed at the top floor which had a comfortable bed and a great view. The house is about 4 miles out of stromness in a beautiful location, near all the Neolithic sites. Having a car in stromness is a minus. The breakfast was awesome. The mill is a stone building so you have to go to the lounge to... More

We stayed at the Mill for five nights at the end of June. I recommend the Mill Burn room. The window opens above the burn (stream) so you could here it at "night". Not a lot of darkness in mid-summer this far north. Morag is an excellent hostess. After the third day we needed to wash some cloths and she... More

This is a great place to stay and the owner is one of the nicest people you could meet.nothing is or was too much trouble, The room we had was immaculately presented and well provided yet still retained old world charm. The breakfast was everything you could wish for

My teenage daughter and I stayed here in May 2015 for two nights. Morag was an exceptional host providing great directions to the place and answering every question we could possibly have, even offering to let me use her business wifi account if the one in the quest lounge wasn't fast enough for me. The breakfast was a large spread,... More

We thought this would be great. A former mill with interesting decor. Well the decor turned out to be extremely cluttered, and the charming canopy bed creaked like crazy with even the slightest movement. Our bathroom was fine, but the other couple had a minuscule shower you could barely more in. Plus their room had a window that was broken,... More

When you enter the Mill of Eyrland you really do feel that you have stepped back in time. If you are looking for modern accommodation this is not it, but if you enjoy a wonderful old building with heaps of character and an eclectic assortment of furniture then you will love this place. We stayed in the Malting Floor room... More

The Mill of Eyrland is the most glorious building in a beautiful setting. It has been lovingly restored by Morag, who is a wonderful host. Breakfast is immense and served by the lovely Graham and the rooms are beautifully decorated. We stayed for 3 nights and were made to feel very comfortable and welcome throughout. A real home from home.

A lovely historic mill with lots of original features. A warm and friendly place to stay with a great breakfast and peaceful surroundings. We stayed for 3 nights in June with a toddler and really enjoyed it. It is very homely feeling with lots of interesting things to see and read in the house. The communal breakfast table was a...
