The building may seem a bit old but very chic and very well maintained. Food was very good and convenient and has a variety to choose from. No need to go anywhere else if you're travelling for business as there is not much around the area anyway.

This is a perfectly acceptable hotel. It is a short walk from the train station and whilst on the main road was not too noisy. Nice breakfast with lots of options served by pleasant waitress. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and it is clearly a popular place to eat. The room had a small clean bathroom.

Nice clean hotel with good sized rooms that all look nicely decorated. No iron in room and the one provided by reception is one if those £5 jobs which do nothing. Need to invest in better showers as there is very little pressure from them. Overall good stay and would stay again.

My partner and I stayed with a week. Good size room, very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent wifi. Breakfast excellent/ good time. Ate in dining room for birthday dinner... Food good a little expensive. Also meet there for just a quiet drink... Great location. Car park available. Train station close if needing train to Glasgow or Edinburgh. Would stay again

Very comfortable hotel with clean well appointed ensuite rooms. Stayed there for 2 nights in May although did not eat dinner there as I had other engagements. There was a good selection for breakfast either buffet style or a cooked full Scottish on order. Although I was not paying for this myself I was told it was comparable with a... More

I went with staff from the office again. Dinner was good service was very good. Entertainment was good too. We will continue to book each year until the service quality and value drop. This was year 6. Roll on Christmas 2014.

Stayed for 1 night on 5/4/14 on our Scotland Tour. Lovely room very clean and spacious. We ate in the restaurant and though slightly expensive had a lovely meal. Only small problem was at 10.30 we discovered a problem with hot water we were offered another room or use of one in morning if hot water wasn't sorted, we chose... More

I arrived here on Thursday 1st May for 1 night due to buisness.Check in was easy - very pleasant receptionist. Nice, quick and simple. I was on the ground floor - room 6, perfect for 1 person, big comfy double bed, bath and a nice hot shower. The restaurant is very pleasant, nice polite staff and the food is tasty.... More

The hotel is set on Hamilton Road with lots of off road outdoor parking. Beautiful old heritage style building fully renovated. Welcoming restaurant and bar, plus lovely al fresco area. Rooms are nice size; bathroom in our room was small but perfectly fine. Well equipped rooms; free fast wifi. Pillows in our room were a bit on the thin side.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The BEST WESTERN Moorings Hotel provides the magic near Motherwell! Built in 1891 as the private home for a member of a famous Scottish steel dynasty, our beautiful main building has held its charm and offers a unique, understated and timeless air of refinement to this day. The surroundings are undeniably chic, but the overall ambience remains humble enough to be homely. A "B" listed building within a local conservation area, BEST WESTERN Moorings Hotel has built on its 19th century roots to meet 21st century needs and provides guests with classic character. We still have some of the original stained glass windows, and our hospitality is traditional and unintrusive. ... more   less
