This hotel has its ups but also too many downs. On the positive side - its is close to the golf course, its a grand building, the water and the restaurant is good enough. Staff is friendly (but seemed to me a bit confused). On the down side are the rest of the hotel. Thin walls and doors: you'll hear... More

We dined at the Stofield Hotel restaurant on Saturday evening. The view across the golf course to the Moray Firth was amazing. The menu was varied, something for everyone. I had stuffed pork with cream cheese sauce, it is the best meal I have had in a long time, it was fantastic. The hotel was busy due to a wedding,... More

We chuckled, and giggled, and laughed and enjoyed, and that was at the hotel itself. The building has character, which character I'm not too sure - Either Walt Disney or Hanna Barbera either one it really was a pleasure to stay at the Stotfield. Having read all previous reviews, once again I'm torn between opinions - The really bad ones... More

What a grand hotel the Stotfield must have been! You can still catch glimpses but it is definitely well overdue for a total makeover. We booked for the location and that can't be beat - across the street from golf and the beach. We ate dinner in the restaurant, which we thoroughly enjoyed, and I can also recommend the breakfast... We haven't laughed so much for a long time! It was so bad there was nothing else to do. There are lots of reviews on Trip Advisor which accurately describe how awful this place is so I will keep my comments short. Our stay started by having to take 3 heavy suitcases up 2 flights of stairs (no lift). The... More

Centrally located to my research interests. However internet access was limited to the public areas downstairs which was disappointing. Otherwise a reasonable mid-range hotel - old but not as bad as some reviews suggest.

This is situated right next to Moray Golf Club so a short walk from hotel puts you on the first tee. The rooms are basic and hotel hasn't changed for 30 years so you cannot expect too much. Breakfast was very average, there must be a good butcher in Lossiemouth where they could source a decent sausage! You get what... More

Shocking! Never so glad to get home. Previous occupants condoms and socks left in drawers. Freezing, dirty and soul-less. Please don't book...... Thought we had stumbled on to the set of aTenessee Williams film. Quite surreal. Apart from shocking state of rooms and environs it was freezing, draughty, dusty. Shower didnt work properly. Fiddly reuseable soap containers not filled up.... More

We stayed here recently for 2 nights and have only been able to look back and laugh at the experience we had here! For only £60 a night we thought we had got a bargain as the hotel looked nice from the website. We couldn't be more wrong. The rooms are large but badly need updating as wall surfaces were... More

We ate here last week with my 3 year old. The first thing that hits you is the bar is well laid out and has lovely decor. It does however lack warmth.... The large room was really cold and we were not the only ones to eat with our coats on. Portable radiators would be helpful or wear your thermals.... More
