This is situated right next to Moray Golf Club so a short walk from hotel puts you on the first tee. The rooms are basic and hotel hasn't changed for 30 years so you cannot expect too much. Breakfast was very average, there must be a good butcher in Lossiemouth where they could source a decent sausage! You get what... More

Shocking! Never so glad to get home. Previous occupants condoms and socks left in drawers. Freezing, dirty and soul-less. Please don't book...... Thought we had stumbled on to the set of aTenessee Williams film. Quite surreal. Apart from shocking state of rooms and environs it was freezing, draughty, dusty. Shower didnt work properly. Fiddly reuseable soap containers not filled up.... More

We stayed here recently for 2 nights and have only been able to look back and laugh at the experience we had here! For only £60 a night we thought we had got a bargain as the hotel looked nice from the website. We couldn't be more wrong. The rooms are large but badly need updating as wall surfaces were... More

We ate here last week with my 3 year old. The first thing that hits you is the bar is well laid out and has lovely decor. It does however lack warmth.... The large room was really cold and we were not the only ones to eat with our coats on. Portable radiators would be helpful or wear your thermals.... More

I have today returned from a weekend at this hotel and I have never been so glad to see my own home as I was today. Before I have my rant I must state the staff at the hotel really tried their best and always had a smile on their face despite all the negativity they have to deal with.... More

Had a lovely weekend away in lossie staying at this hotel. Our first night was in a room over the back, not that exciting, a bit dated and old fashioned but it did have a bath. Our second night we had a room overlooking the sea, which was bigger and had a sofa which really made for a lovely change... More

The price of this hotel I expected more it was very dull. My room look as if it was from the 50s. The free wifi was only if you sat in the lounge area next to the door. The food was fine but slow service.

I had to stay at the hotel as all nearby accomadation was full. I requested a double room and was charged £70, and upon entering the room was met by a very heavy smell of disinfectant I can only think they wanted to hide some other smell, the room was very dated and not pleasing to the eye. The walls... More

We got supposedly the last room available. It was at the back of the hotel at the end of a rucked carpeted corridor with alarmingly creaking floor boards. The room was clean but poorly decorated with wallpaper hanging off the ceiling. The en suite was behind a rickety sliding door and was basic in the extreme. The telly dated back... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A warm welcome awaits you at this family run hotel in Lossiemouth. A great relaxed family friendly atmosphere exists at this hotel and is frequented by many returning guests and locals alike. The breathtaking view from the front of hotel overlooks the Moray Firth and beyond to the Cromarty Firth and to the hills of Caithness. The hotel is directly opposite the ancient Moray Golf Club, and is ideally situated for exploring the Coastal, Castle or Whisky trail, as well as being well situated for visiting the cities of Inverness and Aberdeen and surrounding area. The Stotfield Hotel has recently undergone a refreshing transformation of many of its bedrooms and also the ground floor guest area. However, this historic hotel retains many of its original character and features from 1895, including the fantastic sweeping staircase and period revolving front door. During your stay you can enjoy free access to high speed wireless broadband throughout the hotels public areas, free car parking (limited spaces available, ample on street parking adjacent to the hotel) but most of all comfortable and relaxed surroundings. ... more   less
