I booked a room in the stotfield as a last minute treat for me and my partner last weekend, we were mainly looking for somewhere new to dine near to our home but after checking the room rates we decided it would be reasonable to stay overnight. When we arrived we were checked in and given our room key and... More

Have stayed here many times and have always found the staff to be really friendly. The waitress was lovely and made our meal enjoyable. The food is nice especially the hot rock steak. The downstairs has been upgraded and is nice with a comfortable lounge area. The rooms have been upgraded since our first visits but the bathroom this time... More

Stayed here with Opera Bohemia and really had a fab stay. Although the room was slightly cold on arriving the staff provided an extra heater until the Central heating had fired up. Our room had new carpets etc but was slightly tired otherwise. Staff are so friendly though and welcoming and you really feel a lovely atmosphere here. Looks like... More

This was a last minute booking to stave off some January blues. We wanted somewhere cheap, and expected to stay at a Travelodge then go out on the tiles, but this was an unexpected bonus in the price bracket. A large spacious old building. The lounge / foyer area is attractive, although could benefit from a real fuel stove rather... More

We actually stopped off here for the Sunday Carvery, but it wasn't on :( . We had a choice of tables as it wasn't busy, but it was a horrendously stormy day. The restaurant was warm and inviting and we got our drinks quickly. I ordered the Sunday Roast, which was Turkey. My friend had the traditional fish and chips.... More

Had a very cheap break here at the beginning of December. Like other reviewers we had no heating in our bathroom and our room was cold but we found the staff very helpful and we were given a heater as soon as we asked. We had a meal the first night took forever to arrive the vegetarian choice was very... More
