We spent the Easter weekend here with an elderly relative and were favorably impressed by the friendly staff and individually decorated and comfortable bedrooms, in some cases giving onto the lawn through French doors. The food in the dining room was very acceptable without being exceptional, though it was a bit difficult to see what one was eating after dusk... more

We stayed at this hotel on 30th September and had a most enjoyable experience. Our room was very well equipped and comfortable , the staff excellent , and the food a very high standard. In particular our vist to the 'Malt Library ' was made a particular pleasure by the very knowledgeable and attentive barman/night porter. We will definately return... more

Lovely hotel on the outskirts of Forres. Booked in for business with a few colleages. Very friendly and personalised service. The manager John is a star and all the staff was extremely helpful and smiled! An absolute delight and something you unfortunately don't see that much in other hotels. We kept the staff up till really late (sorry...) with a... more

I booked a night away here as a Bank Holiday treat for myself and my husband, and we were very disappointed. Originally quoted £210 a night for one of the four poster rooms,(The Benromach) then they rang back and offered £150, which is still a huge amount for bed and breakfast. We were expecting a bit of luxury for that.... more

The hotel is very easy to find. We stayed over Easter. It was cold outside but in the main warm and cosy within. The entrance hall is so welcoming with (immitation) log fire burning and the owner there to meet and greet. This is not a boutique hotel but a marvellously presented country house. I think that my watch turned... more

After driving up the driveway with trees running along side here stands the hotel in its own big garden. The Knockomie Hotel is an old style big country house, which has kept it s old charm, having antique furnishings around. My cousin and myself treated our mothers to a mothers day lunch, not knowing what to expect after hearing mixed... more

The Knockomie is in a pretty poor position. A few hundred metres away the towns latest housing estate is creeping closer and closer - and the land adjacent to the hotel has a sign indicating even more development. It has no grounds to speak of whatsoever really. Like many hotels in Scotland it's feeling tired - for the price you... more

My husband and I stayed there during our two week tour of Ireland and Scotland after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip! If you are a lover of all things scotch (the liquid kind) then this is a great place for you! They have a fully stocked bar with very... more

We stayed here for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. It had a wonderful atmosphere. The room we had was beautiful and furnished with some Arts & Crafts pieces. They had made the best use of space. There were a few minor matters on arrival: 1. no milk for tea making and only one tea bag, 2. only towels... more
