We were passing by and saw the signs outside advertising lunch - 2 courses for £9. We ordered our two courses but when the bill came we had been charged full price. When we pointed out the sign and questioned the bill but we were basically told that they had been meaning to change the sign for ages but hadn't... More

We had a family wedding to attend at Dalhousie Castle and we searched for a more reasonable priced Hotel within good striking distance. What a great place the Laird and Dog turned out tobe. The staff where absolutely fantastic, great service and superb food. The breakfast was excellent and we were waited on hand and foot. The hotel booked our... More

Super friendly staff, fabulous food, clean comfortable accommodation and ideal location for Edinburgh with a bus stop right outside front door. No complaints at all. Would definitely return. Breakfast was delicious as was dinner in restaurant too.

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff and local folks in the pub were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed chatting with them. The room was a bit tight, but manageable. I suggest they put a towel rack on or near the bathroom for hand-towels. I personally found the shower stall a bit claustrophobic but it was clean and everything... More

Stayed here for just a we night away with the wife. Staff are brilliant and nice and clean place. Meals are out this world. Rooms are a tad on the cold side but apart from that would return. Well done to all the staff .

It's currently 12:35am and we have been trying to get to sleep since just before 11. Acoustic music has been playing throughout the night and showing no signs of stopping. We were never warned or informed. Service is fine, but who cares for service when you can't sleep due to excess noise?
