Pricey for poor standard of care. Hotel is threadbare and not very clean. Pricey room had great views, but everything has seen better days! Reception area hard to find, loud music in near empty restaurant, understaffed and shabby. Wifi not available in room even though stated it was. No phone in room.

Thank you for your review. As readers will see, we have many happy guests. Loving the food, the staff, the setting, the rooms and the whole Kildonan experience. We are not the Ritz and don't claim to be! We area small family-run, 15 room hotel. The decor throughout is tasteful with many pictures of seascapes and wildlife, boutique style ornaments... More

a wonderful situation on the edge of the sea looking out to Ailsa Craig. The dining room looks out to an island with a lighthouse and further away there is the unmistakable shape of Ailsa Craig. We watched the sea birds at breakfast time as well as domestic ones. The beach outside is both rocky and sandy. a wonderful spot!

My Partner and I recently had a very relaxing short break at this hotel, our room was comfortable well furnished with stunning views, The staff are polite and friendly. Food was very good, and where possible they catered for my partner's gluten free requirements. We would go back again.

We stayed here for three nights in August in a family room. It was spacious, clean and comfortable for two adults, two teenagers and a dog! Small gripe was that the room was excessively hot, because the only ventilation was via two fanlights. Thoroughly recommend this hotel - great outlook (see photo), very friendly and helpful staff and relaxing atmosphere,... More

This was our second trip to this part of Arran but our first stay at the hotel. The views from the rooms (west-facing balconies) and the bar/restaurant are stupendous - out across the rocky shoreline into the westerly sky. But, we were pleased with some really nice and sunny weather! The room was clean and adequate but could have benefitted... More

Spent a weekend with friends at this hotel. Food and staff were very good. First night went without any problems, second night there were no hot water. The boiler went on the blink. Manager tried to get it fixed but the part could not get there until Monday morning but she done her best to accommodate us by giving us... More

I had booked 2 rooms a good few months ago however when we arrived we were told that they did not have one of the rooms for us even though our registration card was on the desk with both our room numbers, there was not a sorry and it came across as flippant even though the manager may not have... Have just spent the weekend with friends at the nearby Seal Shore Campsite and we called in at The Kildonan Hotel for drinks one night, supper another night and morning coffees today. The same staff were on duty throughout and they provided great service. Our meal there was excellent- a lot of really creative options on the menu along with... More

The hotel is located on a beautiful location. The staff is very frendly and the food is excellent. We where her in 2013 and asked our travel agency to book this hotel this year again and even for an extra day. We weren't disappointed.

the location is stunning and the seals in Kildonan point are a short stroll away. the hotel has been updated fairly recently but is coming up to needing another refurbishment. Decor overall is good in the sense that it is neutral, showers were a major disappointment and our food experiences varied from some very good crab to at best average
