This was our first visit to Arran and to the hotel. The ferry was really easy and the hotel is almost opposite the ferry terminal. The staff were all really friendly. We stayed in the suite, no 103. It was one of the most amazing rooms I have stayed in. It was a huge room and bathroom. It had breathtaking... More

As an islander, I have never been to this hotel, which is situated within 100 metres of the ferry terminal at Brodick. It commanded and elevated view of Brodick Bay and the Argyle hills. The bistro is to be found at the fron, which gives wonderful view from the windows or decked area. The food is extremley well presented, plentiful... More

Booked a double room at the Douglas Hotel but were pleasantly surprised on arrival to find that we had been given a free upgrade to a suite. We had a gorgeous sea front view and could relax and enjoy the views and lazily watch the ferry coming and going from huge bay windows. The room was spacious, modern and immaculate,... More

Good hotel for Men and Golfers Weekends. Sports Bar/Bistro. Not so good for Ladies or Families. No where to sit quietly - constant Radio 2 in all public areas. The bedroom was fitted out for men. Lighting so dull, especially in the bathroom for applying makeup. No long mirror. Needed a bigger wardrobe. No laundry service - no stationery in... More

Our 2 night stay at Douglas was a treat- especially since I have fond memories staying here with my family in the 1970's and in 1990. The hotel has undergone major renovations which have maintained the charm and style of this wonderful Victorian era hotel. Our room was spacious and clean, the bed was super comfy and the bathroom was... More

Our room was excellent, at the front, view of the sea and ferries coming and going. The decor is stylish and good quality, the bed big and comfy, the bathroom big and even had a sea view! We had an Exec. suite at a reduced price.

Stayed this hotel for a night in August 214 on a trip to Isle of Arran. The hotel has great location and the rooms are very well done. The only let down was wifi connectivity - it seems to drop off every now and then. The front office seemed a bit under-staffed, though there were not a lot of guests.... More

Enjoyed my night in the hotel. The staff were very nice and helpful. At dinner they were courteous and attentive. Food was amazing. Would and have recommended the hotel to my friends. Arran is beautiful.

The rooms are beautiful, especially those with a view of the bay. We'll outfitted, comfortable beds, and amazing bathrooms. Only two slight disappointments: the coffee was instant, and tastes fairly bad; the wifi was intermittent and I had to ask to have the routers reset twice - the wifi worked mostly in the bar and bistro. But overall these didn't... More

Stayed here for 2 nights & on the whole this is an excellent place to stay what I would say is that the service was a bit of a mixed bag. Firstly the reception staff were spot on, from organising some requirements prior to our stay superbly, to the friendly greetings each & every time we entered the hotel. The... More
