My husband and I took many photos of this historic lodge, which has been a hotel for over 100 years and still looks the same from the outside, though it's been lovingly maintained and updated inside. Blackwaterfood village was totally charming after our visit to the standing stones on nearby Machrie Moor. We I loved hearing the clip-clop of horses'... More

Wonderful welcome from the hosts; a peaceful, calming and soothing environment; indeed we slept very well and had a scrumptious breakfast. An absolutely lovely place to stay on the beautiful island of Arran and thoroughly recommended.

This B&B offers a good standard of accommodation in a sea side village with great views across to the Kintyre peninsula. Rooms are comfortable with the normal facilities (kettle, TV , toiletries etc). There are plenty of common rooms a available to watch TV or relax with other guests. The standard of the breakfast is awesome! Enough to set you... More

This is near the sea and the hotel which is the only place to eat for miles around. The hostess helpfully suggested booking a table and that was useful. The breakfast was lovely. Room clean and comfortable. Recommended.

A charming B&B, within walking distance to the beach. The owners bent backwards to make me feel at home, together with my trip companions. The room was nice, with a large bathroom. Only thing missing: a desk. The common rooms are spacious and cozy. Breakfast is just great, and there were occasions where the landlady cooked for us - a... More

We spent three nights here recently, and really enjoyed our stay. Situated in a beautiful spot on Arran, rooms large and comfortable with large ensuite. The owners were so hospitable and helpful and it was nice to be able to have a few drinks in the bar in the evenings after a meal down the road at the nearby hotel.... More

Went to arran for one night. Arrived at the b&b and checked in. Even my luggage was taken inside. Spend the evening at the bar in house, had real nice and friendly convention to the owners.and finished with a delicious breakfast. Thanks for the great time!

I was generally happy with my visit to this hotel. It was reasonably priced, clean and a quiet place to spend the night. The staff were uniformly good and the cooked breakfast was of a high standard, even if the non-cooked choices were a little limited. To have earned a higher grade a new mattress would have been needed. The... More
