After walking part of the Arran coastal way I was looking forward to a cosy hotel and some beers and food. I wasn't disappointed - extremely friendly staff, a very comfortable room, a great little bar with a fire and probably the highlight - fine food! I'll definitely be back. Mind you, it might become so popular that I'll have... More

The hotel does not yet have a webpage and I received no answer to my request of availability via email. I called, was told that a room was available and I would received a written confirmation soon, which never arrived. However, when I showed up, I had a very good surprise, with a lovely traditional building, beautiful sitting room, spacious... More

This is my first review because this hotel was so lovely. We stayed last Sunday and the staff were so kind, genuine and helpful. Food was fabulous. Room was lovely and comfortable. Nothing was any hassle. Our dog was made welcome too. Had a great chat in the bar, which if we weren't so tired would have continued longer. Felt... More

We are foodies from America and came on the recomendation of our friend a scottish chef. Many thanks for the recomendation. After a warm welcome we feasted on local game and seafood. Particular highlights included fresh scottish muscles steamed in a zesty Thai curry and local venison cooked to perfection with seasonal vegetables and a devine grattan. After all this... More

We stayed at the Blackwaterfoot lodge, only a couple of days after it had re opened with the Black Grouse bar and restaurant and it was lovely. The residents lounge, the bar and the restaurant have been recently redecorated and very stylish, with real fires burning and a warm atmosphere. We were entirely happy with our room, but we understand... More

Very cozy hotel with friendly, homely atmosphere. Breakfast is always on time, products are always fresh and tasty. The owners were very nice and helpful. I love this place and I will come back. Agnes :)

My husband and I took many photos of this historic lodge, which has been a hotel for over 100 years and still looks the same from the outside, though it's been lovingly maintained and updated inside. Blackwaterfood village was totally charming after our visit to the standing stones on nearby Machrie Moor. We I loved hearing the clip-clop of horses'... More

Wonderful welcome from the hosts; a peaceful, calming and soothing environment; indeed we slept very well and had a scrumptious breakfast. An absolutely lovely place to stay on the beautiful island of Arran and thoroughly recommended.

This B&B offers a good standard of accommodation in a sea side village with great views across to the Kintyre peninsula. Rooms are comfortable with the normal facilities (kettle, TV , toiletries etc). There are plenty of common rooms a available to watch TV or relax with other guests. The standard of the breakfast is awesome! Enough to set you... More

This is near the sea and the hotel which is the only place to eat for miles around. The hostess helpfully suggested booking a table and that was useful. The breakfast was lovely. Room clean and comfortable. Recommended.
