As a family, we stayed in rooms 102 and 104 for a Murder Mystery Weekend. Everything was spotless, the carpeting, beds, curtains and especially the wonderfully modern and spacious bathrooms. Stayed here in October 2007 and thought the hotel was great. We stayed in the newer block towards the back of the hotel (Room 116) and had an excellent view of the River Forth and the bridges. I stayed here for a week on a residential course & was very impressed by the hotel, which at the time of staying (late Mar 2007) was well through a major refit. I've stayed at this hotel three times this year on business. It's neither good nor bad - just non-descript and has no real character or interest. Just somewhere convenient for me to stay when in the area on business. On all stays the rooms though different were identical in lay-out and facilities. Having read good reports about this hotel we booked a room for one night. Probably the worst hotel we have ever stayed in, room smelt awful and the breakfast was disgusting. Would never stay there again!! more
