This is an older hotel and some areas are a little tired but don't let that put you off. The large rooms are well equipped and clean and comfortable but what makes this a very good place to stay is the location with the back rooms having amazing views of the Forth Bridge and the little village is very nice... First of all the good points. The double room had a king size bed, completely re-done shower room and was probably about 40 square metres. Fantastic. To get in though you go through a bar propped up by eclectic locals. We ate there and the food was ok but I had to ask separately for salt and for vinegar. As the... More

We stayed here for 2 nights as a base for going to the Ryder Cup. I wasn't sure what to expect after reading other reviews but was swayed by the amazing deal in comparison to over inflated prices for other chain/motel style hotels. On arrival the staff were really friendly and we were really pleased with our room, it was... More

Out of the way, quiet location. Ideal if you want to look at the two Forth Road and Rail Bridge. Staff were very helpful. Local's more than holiday makers. Good if you like walking. Station nearby.

I really don't know what the other reviewers are talking about! We stayed here for 3 nights and I booked it before reading the trip advisor reviews so was expecting something terrible. However we arrived late Friday night and the staff couldn't have been more helpful! We were shown to our room which was lovely and big, amazing shower! Beds... More

Hotel in need of upgrading carpets dirty, and stairwell down to toilets worn and dangerous, windows of rooms rattle when the wind blows outside and the bathroom although brand new in the rooms, were extremely cold with the wind blowing through the hotel windows, insulation needed for the windows, the restaurant was nice and food excellent and staff very friendly.... This hotel is a wee gem, not much to look at from the outside but the rooms are amazing! Beautifully presented and very clean. The bed was huge and so comfy and we had an amazing view of the Forth bridge. Made to feel very welcome on arrival, breakfast was whatever you wanted no trouble and help yourself to tea... More

Just the facts. I booked online because i had stayed at a B&B up the road and loved the look of the place. Got there soaked after the train ride. The girl behind the bar had no idea of how the place worked, i showed here my reservation number and she laughed. Ended up getting a room, couldn't get a... More
