We have stayed here about four times a year for two years and have never been disapppointed. The meals are always excellent, always fresh and home made. The wine list is excellent. The rooms maybe small but being that it is in a building that is probably older than the political/social USA we love it. We go there to unwind... more

We didn't stay at the hotel but went for a family (3 adults & 2 children) evening meal. It's difficult to complain about the overpowering smell of bleach as at least it's an indication that the place is clean. But the puddles of dirty water in the tiles didn't help the impression. Despite being the first customers of the evening,... more

We really enjoyed our stay here for our 30th wedding anniversary in August right across the street from Falkland Palace. Our stay was for four nights as part of a 14 day self catered trip of Ireland & Scotland. Initially we were somewhat confused as the hotel is now called Luigino's instead of the Covenanter, there's no parking on site... more

Although myself and three others did not stay there we had the misfortune to eat there on Wednesday 27th of August. Much of the problems appeared to be due to inexperienced staff who were running around like headless chickens. Some of the problems we experienced were; asked three times for a pint of beer with my meal; asked for a... more

I first stayed at the Covenantor in 1990. It was during a rather painful period in my life and the then Proprietor, George Menzies gave a warm welcome even though I was a stranger. I had no luggage, I was tired, bedraggled and appeared from nowhere as I had just driven all night from Preston. There was an incident during... more

Oh dear! Such high hopes as it's so beautiful on the outside...but was nowhere near as nice as we expected. We had to wait ages to check-in at the bar, despite staff mulling around in the next room (who knew we were there) and we felt almost an inconvenience. Room was tired looking. BUT breakfast was nice! Very overpriced for... more

The wife and I booked a couple of nights at the Covenanter Hotel and found it to be basic and clean. The breakfast was a good size plateful but on the 2nd morning the sausages tasted off. They were certainly not the same flavour as the morning befores. The one thing I found out though was their prices for drinks... more

We stayed for three nights at this warm and cosy Inn, our room was well equipped and overlooked the church and palace. The bar was small but warm and cosy and Martin cooked our breakfasts, gave us the weather forecast and served the drinks! The food in the adjoining bistro was very good and at a very reasonable price. Falkland... more

One of the most idyllic, picture postcard perfect places I have ever been. We stayed in the Covenanters Hotel in Falkland for a couple of nights and cannot stop going back. Nick and Simona, the married couple who run the place are welcoming and friendly. It is overlooked by Lomond Hill and the walking is beautiful. In the winter there... more
