I needed four rooms (due to number of friends and family) and this was the only place in Crail that could accommodate us for the dates we needed. Rooms are very small - my bed was pretty uncomfortable. It others in my party didn't share that experience. Decent bar and pub grub. Breakfast was served but I have to say... More

We haven't stayed in this hotel. We have only visited for food. The decor in the bar area is tired but the food was great! The dog is welcome in the bar area which is great. It was good value for money and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Many thanks to Mike, his wife, daughter and the courteous staff for providing a friendly competent service. Yes the frontage could do with a lick of paint, but, the room and En-suite were clean and our bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was served in a very light and spacious room We returned each of the six evenings to fabulous 5* meals due to the... More

Have just returned from a very restful and enjoyable short break (Mon to Fri) at the Balcomie links hotel. Although this is only a 2 star, it surpassed our expectations, our room although small, was scrupulously clean, a sea view, and was very quiet as we were on the 3rd floor. I particularly liked the lovely fluffy towels we were... More

The staff of the hotel were very friendly unfortunately the management made me feel as though I was an inconvenience. Breakfast isn't available until 8am so I ended up paying for 8 breakfasts that I wasn't served, as I had to be at work by 8am. The wi-fi is totally unsuitable for work purposes as almost every website and web... More

Stayed for 2 nights. Were shown to Room 1, this room did not have a bath and looked vry tired so moved to Room 3. Rooms were in desperate need of a facelift, although comfortable bed. En suite door if closed shut could not be opened from the inside & had to be pushed hard from the bedroom side. Shaving... More

We stayed for 3 nights when the Crail food festival was on. The hotel was clean and the owners welcoming. The breakfasts were good and we ate in the hotel twice and the food was very, very good. Some parts of the hotel needed upgrading, the ladies toilets and the bathroom suite in our room needed changing. We really enjoyed... More

Wee bit dated but spotlessly clean, with great beds and noisy extractor fan. Breakfast very good and owners and staff are smashing. Themed food nights worth a try at £15 for three courses of good home made straightforward food.

Have just spent 3 nights at the Balcomie. Great room with wonderful sea view, lovely home cooked food. Nothing was too much trouble, we even had same day laundry service. Kippers at breakfast were excellent.
