Have just spent 3 nights at the Balcomie. Great room with wonderful sea view, lovely home cooked food. Nothing was too much trouble, we even had same day laundry service. Kippers at breakfast were excellent.

One of the poorest hotels I have had the pleasure to visit -Crail is a lovely little village and, having stayed in the Balcomie some years ago, it seemed an ideal place to book particularly when we could all sleep in the same room ie boys aged 9 and 11 and grandparents. We appeared to be the only residents, not... More

Thank you for taking time to review your stay with us during April 2014. I am sorry to hear that you have not enjoyed your stay with your grand children and our facilities were not up to your expectations. The family room you were staying in, is the only family room in the hotel and that is the reason we... More

While it was clearly primarily for golfers, this proved a great little hotel to stay in during our walking tour of the Fife coastal walkway. Manager / owner was very helpful and the place was spotlessly clean, The hotel is walking distance to the centre of the village, which is an attractive fishing hamlet on the Fife coast.

Stayed at the balcomie links while attending a local event. It was a clean and tidy basic two star hotel, staff were very friendly, lovely breakfast, only downside was the price as some five star or four star hotels can be about the same but the weekend did clash with open golf championship and some other events and the practice of price hiking... Thank you for your review. Pleased to hear you had an enjoyable stay with us. As you said it was the Ladies Open week during your stay and although the price of the rooms was not hiked, but due to the event, they were not discounted as they normally are. Once again thank you and we all look forward to... More

Lovely menu with options for meat eaters and vegetarians. Really enjoyed our meals. Pleasant staff and quick service. Delicious home baking. Lighter options as well as proper meals. Plenty of parking. We will be back again.

This small family run hotel was close to St Andrews (10-15 mins) and numerous other golf courses in the area. The village is a beautiful old fishing village- largely unchanged I think. the village rather reminded me of Port Wenn off Doc Martin on TV!- beautiful old stone houses, fishing boats, crayfish for sale at the harbour and a unique... I have recently returned from an overnight stay. To be honest we only choose this hotel because it brought back memories for my parents who used to visit many years ago. However I have to say that the photos on the web site do not do it justice. The two rooms we had were huge with fantastic views and the... More

My partner and I stayed on Saturday and Sunday night. The Hotel is cosy and comfortable. We had a fantastic sea view with extra large window. The staff were excellent as were the owners who were very friendly and chatty.
