A well located bar where the locals hang out. Near the shops and the harbour. Service was quick and friendly. Would come back as they had a wide range of beers on offer. The restaurant is adjacent to the main bar.

My son and I recently wrapped up a trip to Crail (from the US) for The Open at St Andrews. We had booked a room at The Golf Hotel well in advance and hoped that the pictures and reviews were on target. I am extremely happy to write that our week’s stay exceeded all expectations. Our overall accommodations fit our... More

We are regular visitors to Crail and to the Golf Hotel, but we hadn't been for dinner for a while. We booked for dinner on Friday night and everything was excellent. The food was lovely and the service was fantastic. It was so good in fact that we decided, instead of going into St Andrews for dinner on Saturday, we... More

Took family for lunch at 12.00 had the place to ourselves for the first 20mins . Friendly young girl took our drinks order and 3 of us plumped for the Scampi and Chips while the other took the battered Haddock . This hotel does fish exceptionally well and we were delighted. 2 apple crumbles and a chocolate cheesecake later 3... More

Friendly, family-run small hotel; an old building but with plenty of character. There's a room upstairs with some information and memorabilia of Major John Dickson who was the longest surviving veteran of the Scots Greys at Waterloo. He took over as landlord after he retired from the Scots Greys; there's a lot of history here and in the rest of... More

We were out on a run round the East Neuk of Fife today in some early spring sunshine but a very cold wind and decided to stop at the Golf Hotel in Crail for a Bar Lunch. We were not disappointed. On entering the large bar area, the waitress asked where we would like to sit and brought us the... More

Had lunch in the bar area and they allow dogs. Food was good and not too expensive. Barman was friendly without being pushy and the bar area was a nice place to sit with a lovely open fire. Not too far from the Coastal path.

Went with four friends to play golf and watch the Ryder cup. This hotel has lots of character so don't expect the most modern of amenities . You'll get wonky doors and other oddities. The staff are brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for them. The bar can get very busy with locals so you must be patient but... More

This is a really wonderful hotel and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is something to die for and the bar is packed with friendly locals. The rooms are nice and airy and clean with all the amenities you could wish for. Well worth a visit.

We were looking for a particular place to eat along the coast - one we'd been to a couple of years ago. As we hadn't yet found it, and were getting hungry, we called in the The Golf Hotel for lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere fine. I was a bit disappointed in the food, but... More
