First time in East Neuk of Fife and certainly wasn't disappointed. Hotel in very good location, only couple of minutes walk to harbour. Staff at hotel all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ample, tasty and a good selection. Service in restaurant was cheerful and very good. Double room was a bit dated but spotlessly clean, especially bathroom. View from window... more

We stayed 4 nights at the Craws Nest and had a wonderful time, rooms are very small but were spotless, serviced everyday with clean towels, staff were wonderful except two, Matt who works behind the bar was probably the grumpiest person I've ever met real attitude problem, and there was a member of staff at breakfast, other than that staff... more

Had 2 nights at the Craws Nest. On arrival the receptionist was somewhat unfriendly, very uninterested. We were given keys to our twin rooms in the annexe. This is over the carpark and at the back of hotel. The rooms were small and the bathroom was a dreadful brown colour. Room was very dated. Clean ,but not great. We did... more

in a last minute decision to go away for the weekend - we decided to visit anstruther - part of scotland we hadnt seen much of. I looked up the special offer link on the symphony hotel website - and subsequently phoned up the hotel to ask if the offer was available - and it was! due to the dinner... more

We used to live in Fife and this hotel had a good reputation for many years . Sadly it is now stuck in a timewarp . Our room was basic and the bathroom as mention already was so dated. For our evening meal we were seated on the pathway the waitresses used to go to the kitchen so our table... more

This hotel has been in Anstruther for many years. Originally it was a family run establishment but is now one of a chain of 3 hotels in the Symphony Leisure group. The exterior of the hotel looks smart and inviting, unfortunately the public areas inside do not live up to the outer appearance. The reception, dining room and bar are... more

In many ways this is the type of hotel that gives Scottish tourism a bad name. Rooms cost the same as 5 star places in most other parts of Europe but, while the place looks fairly grand from the outside, it looks and feels like a slightly down-at-heel golf clubhouse once you're in. In fairness, the rooms are clean, the... more

Stayed for three nights at The Craws Nest. Very helpful and pleasant staff and excellent food at all times! Wonderful breakfasts!! On the downside we had to take our luggage up 40 stairs (no porter).. The decor is 'tired' and the bar lacked atmosphere could have done with some music. On arrival we were directed to the 'Eddie Clarke' annex... more

We enjoyed our visit to this hotel which has enjoyed a very fine reputation for 30/40 years. Catering and service lived up to that standard but the room allocated explains as to why the hotel enjoys only a Three Star Rating. It was clean and well serviced but there was a strong cigarette odour which with New Government Legislation, you... more

I stayed at the Craw's Nest with my mother who uses a wheelchair. Though the food was good and the staff very friendly, I cannot recommend the hotel if your trip involves anyone in a wheelchair. The disabled room is in the annexe, which is situated about 50 yards down a steep hill from the main hotel. The door for... more
