Me and my partner stayed here 20/08/14 as we were going to musselburgh races. Really nice guest house, very welcoming cant fault the hosts robert and linda. Had read some negative reviews but struggle to understand some people especially the one that said not enough storage as there was LOADS. Breakfast really good as well.

We arranged for an early check-in to fit in with our plans - much appreciated thank you. Friendly hosts, house is spotless and lovely. Room was spacious and a fantastic view over the golf course. Bed was huge and very comfortable. My only very minor comment is the lack of complimentary shower gel/soaps. Like I said, very minor, and the... More

Only stayed one night but I enjoyed the stay very much. The building itself is a beautiful large stone typically Scottish house with turret rooms on the corner, one of which I was in looking out over the Racecourse and Golf links. It was a huge room with all facilities available except a en-suite. The toilet and shower rooms were... More

We stayed at Arden on Saturday 28th June, as we had an event at the Brunton. We arrived to a very friendly lady, who helped us by taking photos for us when 23 were ready to go out.We were in room 2, a huge room with 3 single beds, the room was very clean and maintained and a gorgeous view... More

We were booked in for one night originally but extended our stay to two nights as we were attending a family wedding at the Quayside, Musselburgh. We had a lovely family room with stunning views over the race course and the Musselburgh Old (golf) Course. Only sad there was no time to play! Can't commend our hosts Robert and Linda... More

Spent two comfortable nights here, very soft pillow! Elegant decor, well maintained and clean everywhere. Proprietors welcoming and helpful and it was nice and quiet, I never even heard a plane. In reply to an earlier reviewer I have to say that reaching Edinburgh by bus was dead easy, there is a bus stop almost outside the door and more... More

Booked this guest house Thursday 14th November for the weekend 22nd--24th November. Had to cancel because of medical reasons. This was done on 18th Nov. The booking was through booking.coms . who took my credit card number as proof of booking. I am now being charged £85 cancellation fee, I have found out this is not Bookings.com who are charging this... More

It really is a shame that customers who have not stayed with us can be so rude about us. Perhaps if you had read the terms and conditions on Booking.com site before you booked your would have been aware that one nights accommodation is charged should you cancel within 5 days of your arrival.....As for the wrong information being given... If you want a nice view overa horse race course and the oldest golf club of the UK, then this hotel is made for you. If you want to visit Edinburgh, it is not to be recommended as it is a bit far wawy and not so easily reachable by bus. On the other during the August festivals, many hotels... More

Hello and thank you for your comments. we actually look over the oldest playing golf course in the world.. With a bus stop right outside the door to Edinburgh that takes 20 mins to the city centre and a train station that is 1 mile away that takes 7 mins by train we are not too far from Edinburgh. We... Stayed for two nights. Room lovely and clean, beds comfortable but no real connection socially. I know its a business to the owners but a little less "stiff upper lip" from Robert would have been nice. Breakfast menu was OK but if I had known I could have ordered fried eggs and bacon I would have done so instead I... More
