Early last year my wife and I took pocession of Dungiven Castle and totally refurbished it to a very high standard Guesthouse Inn. We offer a high level of accommodation in our nine Tudor style bedrooms and a fantastic dining experience in our beautiful restaurant. We hope you will ignore previous hostel reviews as this will not reflect the sheer majesty of this magnificent Irish Castle. more » « less

We were to stay in Dungiven Castle for 2 nights on 16th and 17th July and were looking forward to a romantic, stress free break having read all the positive reviews about this hotel. We only booked on 15th July and were delighted when the owner confirmed "a room had just become available". In fact when we arrived we discovered... more

We have just come back from a two night break in Dungiven. Not much to this little town but the hotel in a good location for touring around. Its about 15/20 mins drive to Derry and less than an hours drive to the giants causeway. There are many positives to this hotel, the views, the rooms (except room 5), the... more

I saw the Castle on the internet and instantly thought, yeah right, like it will be that nice for £100 per night! We anxiously drove upto the castle, which was quite central to Dungiven town, instantly i thought my initial reaction was correct - UNTILL i walked into the main foyer. It was beautiful, clean, warm ... perfect! We were... more

This is an experience not to be missed. If I were to marry again it would be at this extraordinary Irish Castle. The fixtures and fittings throughout the castle are to the highest standard. Obviously designed and decorated with "Love". The proprietors are welcoming and very friendly and ensure that everything possible is done to make your stay enjoyable and... more

Admittedly we did not stay in the hotel for the night but we had our 20th anniversary dinner there at Christmas. It was a beautifully presented meal and the food was gorgeous. Service was second to none. Friendly and efficient. An earlier reviewer mentioned that it would be easy to miss this beautiful premises - very true - the only... more

My husband and I got married in Dungiven on 5th May 2008 and had our wedding photographs taken at Dungiven Castle. The scenery and building were simply breathtaking and our guests were mesmerised that such a hidden treasure existed. From the main road it would be very easy to miss this wonderful hotel, but once you enter the hotel and... more

I wanted to express my warmest thanks for the really relaxing and romantic weekend we recently spent at Dungiven Castle . My boyfriend and I regularly stay in hotels all over Ireland including The Merchant Hotel in Belfast and the Templepatrick Hilton. I can honestly say the accommodation, welcome and particularly the service we received whilst staying at Dungiven far... more

My husband and I stayed at Dungiven Castle in April. The place has been redecorated and refinished with great taste. (I expected more of a castle look inside, in keeping with the look outside, but that was my expectation and doesn't detract from the beautiful decor). The view from the window is amazing, and the outdoor spaces are being done... more

The Castle is beautiful and the gardens magnificent. What lets this establishment down badly is the lack of training staff have been given. There's no shortage of friendliness but I'm afraid the management must invest in some professional training if this hotel is to succeed in the long-term. I imagine the US market is one they'd like to attract, but... more
