They are latter-day Victorians really, Robert and Rachel. So they'll probably appreciate a bit of Latin scholarship - I found a phrase book in our bedroom, one among hundreds of fascinating reads shelved all over the magnificent Marlagh Lodge and readily available to guests. Ballymena? Not a Mecca for classy accommodation, I hear you say. You might be right. But... More

Stayed for 2 nights in the Print Room. Bathroom over the hall but our own use only, and dressing gowns provided. Robert was so welcoming, nothing at all was a bother. Place had fabulous old world charm, and spotlessly clean. Great breakfast (Ulster fry) and hot plums to start! Given a front door key so we could come and go... More

Visited Marlagh recently. We just stopped by for lunch. It is a very homely place and the food was lovely. Whilst the menu is not extensive, the produce is very good quality. The food is homemade and from fresh ingredients, - we even saw the lady going to the garden and picking the greens and herbs. The selection of pastries... More

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights, whilst visiting friends locally. We stayed in the "Chintz" room, which was spacious, welcoming and tastefully decorated. We were made to feel very welcome by our host "Robert" who couldn't do enough for us There was a plentiful spread for breakfast and the "Ulster fry" was delicious and set us up... More

My sister and I treated our Dad, and a dear friend of ours, to afternoon tea at Marlagh Lodge. We were absolutely blown away by the experience. Five star does not do it justice. It was an amazing experience, wonderful service, by efficient friendly staff. The food was fantastic, and it kept coming. Delicate, tasty finger sandwiches, scones to die... More

Right from an early communication we knew we were in for a special treat staying here. On arrival the owner carried our bags upstairs and then made us tea and biscuits which we took in the drawing room. The house was amazing. It had quite a history, some of which was well documented and available to read. There were also... More

We called into Marlagh after collecting our hire car and before heading north to Antrim so we would get our bearings about where to come back to for our night's stay and were immediately welcomed in by our host Robert. He made us a cup of tea and over a chat, he gave some suggestions for our drive that afternoon.... More

Arrived here after a long day exploring the sights around Antrim and surrounding areas. Warmly welcomed by our host Robert who gave us some good tips on where to eat. Our room was the chintz, a comfortably decorated room. The tv was a bit old fashioned but I guess this is in keeping with the style of the room! Breakfast... More

Stayed here for two nights as a base to explore the North Coast. Lodge consists for three rooms, all decorated in different styles. We stayed in the 'Chintz' room, a lovely big room, with comfortable big bed, and en-suite. Greeted by the owner, Robert, here was there as quick as a flash when you needed something, and disappeared soon after... More

I was at Marlagh Lodge for lunch, and able to sit in the courtyard surrounded by herbs. Beautiful setting, good food and really excellent value. Herbs are freshly picked for your lunch and served in a really good salad with home made french dressing. Sponge cake was light and delicious. A charming venue which I would highly recommend.
