My 3 night stay was very comfortable in this period home, full of character. Host Robert was welcoming and accommodating. In addition to the normal cereals and juices, stewed plums with cinnamon and cloves was for me a first time delight. The Ulster Fry was perfectly cooked using local produce. Locally baked wheaten bread is another example of the quality... More

Five stars is not enough. I was impressed from the moment we parked outside. Stunning house. A rearm and friendly welcome from a really great host. The most elegant and luxurious bedroom I have ever stayed in. I can't wait to go back

My boyfriend and i stayed here while we were attending a friends wedding down the road in Galgorm. (about 10 mins away in a taxi) perfect location. Robert was very friendly and welcoming as soon as we arrived. The place is stunning and beautifully decorated. Our room was very spacious, clean and had beautiful furnishing and trinkets that where reminiscent... More

We just had a beautiful afternoon tea for 7 at the Marlagh Lodge Tea Room. The ambience of the 'old' house is perfect for 'afternoon tea'. The food was obviously home produce with dainty sandwiches, fresh scones, and a great selection cake and buns and other goodies. Tea and coffee were refilled often by the pleasant and helpful staff. Would... More

If you're for a Dickens esc. Christmas the Marlagh Lodge is the place to stay. Traditional but with modern hospitality from the room to the food and host, this place does not disappoint. Nothing was too much trouble, and we were well looked after. We would stay again. Thank you Robert for making our stay at the Marlagh Lodge and... More

They are latter-day Victorians really, Robert and Rachel. So they'll probably appreciate a bit of Latin scholarship - I found a phrase book in our bedroom, one among hundreds of fascinating reads shelved all over the magnificent Marlagh Lodge and readily available to guests. Ballymena? Not a Mecca for classy accommodation, I hear you say. You might be right. But... More

Stayed for 2 nights in the Print Room. Bathroom over the hall but our own use only, and dressing gowns provided. Robert was so welcoming, nothing at all was a bother. Place had fabulous old world charm, and spotlessly clean. Great breakfast (Ulster fry) and hot plums to start! Given a front door key so we could come and go... More

Visited Marlagh recently. We just stopped by for lunch. It is a very homely place and the food was lovely. Whilst the menu is not extensive, the produce is very good quality. The food is homemade and from fresh ingredients, - we even saw the lady going to the garden and picking the greens and herbs. The selection of pastries... More

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights, whilst visiting friends locally. We stayed in the "Chintz" room, which was spacious, welcoming and tastefully decorated. We were made to feel very welcome by our host "Robert" who couldn't do enough for us There was a plentiful spread for breakfast and the "Ulster fry" was delicious and set us up... More
