We stayed in the newly refurbished Ballygally Castle hotel for a weekend and had a wonderful time. The room was extremely spacious and comfortable, the bar and restaurant were excellent and the gardens were beautiful. All staff were courteous and helpful and nothing was too much trouble, including arranging bicycle hire at short notice and giving us the Ghost Room... More

I booked Afternoon Tea as a birthday treat for my friend. Our waiter Jackie was just fantastic, he was very attentive and looked after us really well, very professional. The tea was wonderful, we had our choice of fillings for the sandwiches and choice of brown or white bread, we had three fresh pots of tea during the course of... More

We stayed over on Saturday night. The hotel was busy with a wedding. We booked the tower rooms after reading the history. I The photos on the website were deceiving and we found the room very small. The bathroom had a small shower which worked fine. The room did not reflect the 4 stars the hotel boasts. We ordered room... More

What do you do when the food is good, but the staff are unfriendly to the point of angry stares? Well, such is my dilemma in writing this review of the Ballygally Castle hotel. Should I overlook the unfriendly desk staff and server who spoke to us with disdain? When it comes down to it, service is what a customer... More

On 12th of July myself and my husband decided to try out the newly refurbished Ballygally Castle Hotel belonging to the Hastings Group. As it was our wedding anniversary we thought a drive up the coast and a lovely meal would be perfect. Not quite! We had booked a table for 7-30 and when my husband went up to the... More

Went for lunch with mum, I got a steak sandwich and mum got a burger. Her burger was lovely. My steak however was tough and had very little taste, the bread was stale and the onion were very greasy, the whole dish was bland. I sent it back and got a coronation chicken sandwich instead, this was no better it... More

I used to love this place. I've stayed in it numerous times over the last few years. It was cool to have a few drinks and go exploring through the castle. We always paid a bit more to stay in the old part of the hotel to get that air of spookiness that came with the 'Haunted Room'. Apparently some... More
