Recently returned to stay again at this lovely guest house. Run by Ian and Lorraine, a lovely couple. Stayed in a beautifully decorated twin room at the front of the house. Lucious home cooked breakfast, and very good value for money. Would highly recommend this guest house.

Recently stayed at the Newholme Guest House in Cottingham. Lovely spacious and well decorated bedroom, with lovely clean en-suite bathroom. Received a warm welcome from the hosts. Lovely choice of hot and cold food at breakfast. Would recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

very convenient for visiting your offspring in the student accommodation of Thwaite, Needler & The Lawns. I was a bit surprised to find I had to share a bathroom (ie. no en suite) - it would appear some rooms have it but not others (singles?). This was not mentioned when I booked & I had not packed dressing gown or... More

For anyone who normally stays at the chain hotels this is an absolute revelation. We had a great room with a big bathroom, comfy beds and plenty of space all within a few minutes walk of the village centre. Breakfast, included in the price, was similarly generous and well cooked. Friendly owners, including budgie and all scrupulously clean. I thought... More

As soon as we walked in I commented on how clean it smelled (which is always a good sign in my opinion) the owners are so friendly, the room had a lovely homely touch to it & the breakfast in the morning was delicious. Even though on a busy main road, we slept like logs! Highly recommend this place :-)

The owners were very friendly and made you feel comfortable straight away. The décor was a bit dated but the room was clean and spacious and the en suite was the largest we.ve had at a guest house. There was a good choice at breakfast with the full english freshly cooked to order. The location was great, quiet but close... More

We chose to stay at The Newholme mainly because we were visiting our son who is at Uni in Hull and staying at Needler halls in Cottingham . We also wanted to experience staying in or near to the village rather than in the city centre. This meant that we had a short 10 min walk to the village where... More

We were visiting family in Cottingham and stayed three nights. Our hosts Lorraine and Ian were welcoming and very easy company. We stayed in a room at the back on the ground floor. The room was clean, comfortable and easy access to the back garden. Lorraine served up a hearty breakfast each morning. We could park right in front or... More
