Fantastic staff, very friendly! Quiet and calm, perfect place for cycling and walking around the Perbecks. We took our VW LT35 here, hook up is good, site is very clean and tidy as well as the toilets and showers. They also had a good little shop in the office for essentials that were a good price. One thing that did... More

We've stayed in many lodges over the past few years in different parts of Britain and this was definely one of the best. A lovely welcome by the staff, the lodge was very clean and the welcome pack was a nice surprise in the fridge (the bacon was lovely). The hot tub was really nice and I liked the fact... More

I have read many of the negative reviews from regular campsite users and whilst I appreciate their concerns I can only speak as a recent customer in one of the new lodges. I stayed here with my daughter, son in law and two children aged 5 and 8 for the half term break. We have stayed in a few lodges... More

Stayed here in August with the family as our summer holiday and am left extremely disappointed. Considering how much it costs to stay in the lodges there are so many things that could be improved. There is no privacy in the hot tub, people just stroll past along the bridge and footpath. The lounge is tiny and struggles to sit... More

So a couple of days before arrival, we received an email re building works. The effect to us was we were upgraded from a 2 to a 3 bedroom lodge. There was no mention of this at check in. As there were only 2 of us, we didn't need an extra bedroom so no advantage and in fact layout of... More

We've been camping at Burbake for about 10 years now and our many weekend trips and annual ( 2 week) holiday on this site have been some of the best holidays we've ever experienced. The easy cycle track through the forest to Studland Beach adding real value to the location. We attempted to go in May this year but the... More

I like wild camping over Dartmoor but as I just wanted to camp locally I went to Burnbake as they allow fires. The site is set in a very nice woodland and the overall atmosphere was relax. The toilets were exceptionally clean, as if they were checked and cleaned hourly. The shop was open for a couple of hours in... More

I have just returned from a weekend camping trip to Burnbake and was horrified to discover that the lower part of the site, where the stream runs and the rope swings used to be, has been built over with ‘luxury’ lodges which are two stories in height. This was my first visit this year but I have been camping at... More

July 2015. Camped at Burnbake for first time in 10 years !! Used to come here regularly with our 3 sons - they loved the freedom, the rope swings, the stream, the carving tree, the fact that whatever they did they were safe. Returned with some trepidation as all the boys now grown up and with lives of their own... More
