We booked Burnbake for a two night stay, two adults, three children. We had researched the site on the internet and decided that it offered everything we would require as well as a central location to explore the surrounding countryside and coastal areas. On arrival we selected our pitch, by the stream. There was plenty of room. We then hired a... More

As per the guidance on the website, we phoned to check availability before setting off for a 3 night stay at the site (Thursday to Sunday) We noted that by the Friday evening the site was full, and "the full" sign was displayed prominently on the arrival board to the site. The long drive down to the site was flanked... More

It is always with a little anxiety that I drive up the hill to the turning left to Burnbake. Why, because we will be very disappointed if we can't get in. Thankfully that has not happened yet and we found a lovely pitch near the stream and away from the main field. The facilities at Burnbake remain good and are... More

We turned up without needing to book and pitched two tents with ease (3 adults, 4 children). The site had plenty of woodland and grassy areas to pitch-up on. There was a small shop selling fire pits, food etc and a hut which would open in the mornings and evenings, to sell bacon rolls, sausage rolls, breakfast baps, tea, coffee... More

I spent a sunny Friday night here with my two kids aged 3 and 5 this weekend. Predictably although it wasn't the summer holidays it was busy and by the time we arrived around 7pm there were limited options in the main field around the shop. Still, we found a reasonably flat pitch in the shade (I was hoping for... More

This is the third time we have stayed here. We came last May 13 and also in July/August school holidays and each time we've had a fab time. Always plenty of space to pitch the tent and always loads of children for my children to make friends with. What I love about this site is the friendly atmosphere. Everyone speaks... More

Just returned from the bank holiday weekend. We had booked as a group but it was a free for all on the field with no organisation so we couldn't all fit in. Consequently we could barely observe a 6cm rule, let alone a 6m rule with our friends and unfortunately we were practically on top of another group. No room... More

Burnbake is a family campsite that allows some freedom to let the youngsters have some fun. Although its just the wife and I now that go camping I have to say that we wouldn't camp anywhere else near Swanage. Its not regimented like other sites and the pitching fees are very reasonable considering its great location. Yes it is noisy... More
