Comfortable, homely bit shabby but pleasant welcome, friendly service, best liver and bacon with mustard mash and big portions for the chilly and hungry, once we have found a place with decent food and a welcoming feel we tend to go back even if the decor isn't ultra smart and we can see the odd cobweb.

Had 4 night stay here recently for some local walking. Very friendly, hardworking management and staff. Food excellent. Room smallish but comfortable and clean. Nothing was too much trouble, including an early breakfast on the day of our departure. Might be a bit noisy in high season with drinkers outside if you go to bed early.

Went here for a light lunch today and it ticked all the boxes. The building itself is ideally positioned overlooking Wareham Quay, though it would be nicer if the car park weren't there. The beer garden out the back however is wonderful - a real asset when the sun shows itself. The ale selection inside is respectable and we had... More

just popped in for a quick snack for lunch and had the most delicious crab sandwich. It came with crisps and a side salad with a tasty dressing . Thick fresh brown bread and a good filling of white and brown crab meat. The hotel looks over the river and on a sunny day it would be glorious there. Warm welcome... More

The rooms were comfortable enough, quite small and basic but money had been spent in the bathroom which had a good shower and well equipped. Tea and coffee were in the rooms and the service we received was good. The food in the pub for dinner was excellent as was breakfast. The 2nd night we were there was a live... More

steaks were excellent and we liked the very hot lava rocks we had the option of cooking on. New experience for the four of us , very easy , clean and smoke free surprisingly . Lovely staff and all good value in this busy pub and nice to have quality ice creams .Deserve good reviews which seem plentiful .

Chose to eat here over the Old Granary. We chose the scampi and ham, egg and chips - hence the title of this review! The food was fine, my scampi was a little pale but the seemingly home made tartare sauce was good. The service was prompt so whilst this wasn't out of this world, it was absolutely fine. Would... I have travelled the South West of England extensively on business over the last three and a half years and stopped at The Quay frequently. All of the annexed rooms are tastefully decorated, comfortable and homely, the food menu is varied and the cooking is excellent and a hearty breakfast awaits you in the morning.. There is always a good... More

We went here as we had a Groupon steak meal deal. Really good value, lovely food and friendly staff. We went for the hot rocks which you cook your own steaks on, which was novel and good fun. Would definitely recommend.
