I am hoping that this was an off day for them however my family and I were left very disappointed by the service given. We arrived at 6pm for a meal for 8 (7 adults and 2 under 3's). We sat in the bar area as this was were we were directed when asking for a table. The first 3... More

Visited around 3pm on a Sunday when it was quiet. The four of us had different main courses and all were well cooked, well presented and tasty. Service was prompt and polite without being "over the top". Well worth a visit.

The hotel was a bit expensive, but I knew what I was getting as it wasn´t many option on a weekend in July in Dorset. It is a really nice hotel, very new in the inside, you can see everything has been bought it the past years. We got 2 double rooms, one with double occupancy, and one with single.... More

Oh dear -not quite what we expected for £115 per night. Light bulb not working, mould on wall, damp smell - radiator dial not working no proper shower in bathroom and difficulty parking. Friendly enough staff and good breakfast and good choice of gins. Unfortunately will not be going back.

Our bedroom was very cramped, we had an extra bed for our small daughter. I was rather shocked at the poor disabled facilities, with no ramps or level access. The bedroom window was painted shut and was rather hot at night. I am not sure if this is legally acceptable, I was a bit worried should there have been a... More

Visited the Red Lion on Sunday 19th July for an impromptu lunch. As it was a sunny day with blue sky we decided to sit outside and enjoy a gin and tonic. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful - nothing was too much trouble. My main course of roasted chicken with sage and vegetables (at least 5 types)... More

After 6 hours of driving or should I say sitting in traffic the welcome we got from the staff at The Red Lion was lovely and refreshing they offered to take our bags and show us around and made us feel very welcome. We had a suite which was very spacious and modern there were a few sections that were... More

The Red Lion is the kind of hotel Im always looking for when travelling to the UK. Great hospitality, friendly staff, reasonable pricing, good breakfast, a restaurant and a bar. With me the room always has a different place. Ofcourse the beds have to be good but its also the atmosphere and the possibillity of keeping everything tidy and clean.... More

Expected much more from this overnight stay. Room could do with refurbishment and fans running much of night. Parking as it is is a farce, move to other spot, make sure it is straight etc etc. Breakfast was good and freshly cooked but to be told the people yesterday used all the juice. Unacceptable at £115 per night overpriced and... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, however we are a little confused by your comment about the room needing refurbishment.. Your room (10) is only a year old and is one of our most popular rooms. Maybe if you could let us know specifically what needs improving then we could look into it? I'm sorry that... More

Went in on a Bank Holiday Monday for lunch. It was about 1pm yet there was hardly any customers, just a big telly showing the news. That, at least, provided some sign of life. The staff were clearly bored. The food was OKish but what a dismal place. You can do much better in Wareham than this.
